My self-summary
Why hello there. I'm a 21-year-old college junior in Cambridge, but I hail originally from Colorado. I like to think and can find an interest in pretty much anything from tapeworms to tapestries. Chiefly I like to read, write, do anything with music, play video/board games, do target sports, geek out about languages (and everything else) and explore outdoors. Meeting new people is always fantastic, unless they're normal. I love puns like Martha Stewart loves earth tones.

Oh, and my favorite word is "buxom."
What I’m doing with my life
Working in Paris for the summer, doing all those life things. Schooling, music, shooting sports, video gaymes, going places and discovering cool things. I'm majoring in linguistics and haven't got any finite plans beyond that, but most likely grad schooling to further delay my entry into the real world.. I'd prefer to see what happens over the next couple years, and above all, travel the world. At the risk of sounding like a wannabe Miss America, I'd like to see the world and make a positive impact in some meaningful way--with or without the swimsuit contest.
I’m really good at
Questioning. I have a sense of curiosity about whatever it is I'm doing, no matter how trivial. I'm a natural skeptic, so I don't necessarily accept something at face value, but that just makes the acceptance all the deeper when it arrives. I love to write, especially satire; how else do you keep authority figures in check?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Stranger; Brave New World; anything David Sedaris; and of course, every grammar geek's pedantic bible: Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss (not much for her prescriptivism, but she's hilarious). Always down for some new dystopias/postapocalyptic fiction

Movies: Fargo, Psycho, Princess Mononoke, Monty Python and the Holy Grail

TV: Battlestar Galactica, Jeopardy!, 30 Rock, Firefly, Frasier, The West Wing, Avatar: TLA/The Legend of Korra

Music: I play the oboe and I really dig classical, from sad/crazy Russians like Stravinsky and Shostakovich to the more traditional fare like Bach and Beethoven. As far as contemporary(-ish) stuff goes I love Imogen Heap, Kate Bush, godawful Europop, occasionally showtunes. Video game music is a not-so-guilty pleasure. I'll give anything a listen though.

Food: Right now I'm really into Indian/Middle Eastern/African food; if you can make a mean curry then you are a god.
The six things I could never do without
1. Humor
2. Music
3. The Internet
4. Language
5. Science
6. Nesquik

(I would say friends and family, but it's kinda dehumanizing to call them "things.")
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Bizarre, random bits of trivia. Mobile Wikipedia is an absolute godsend when you're on the bus and wondering just how old Betty White really is.
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't really have a "typical" Friday night--usually I'm up for any spontaneous activity with friends, be it going out, pulling elaborate pranks, or playing board games at various levels of inebriation.
