Hi, my name is Zane. INFJ, For those who care. I'm a transplant from rural Western PA and have been living in Baltimore coming up on 3 years now, yet still transitioning to the city life.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently a Medical Simulation and Technology Specialist at a small private university. Essentially, I get to service and operate robots, which is pretty amazing but I'm still coming to terms with the fact that everyone simply sees me as the IT guy at work. In all seriousness, I love what I do. I'm also taking this opportunity to pursue some of my other hobbies that have been on the back burner for the past couple years: such as writing, recording music, and going back to school.
I’m really good at
Anything technology related, being a good son and friend, playing the guitar, writing, making people laugh, listening, empathy, giving massages, deep conversation, wit, being a nerd, remembering countless bits of trivial information and being sarcastic.
The first things people usually notice about me
My facial expressions. Apparently, I have a lot of them
My infectious laugh and that I'm easy to talk to
That I'm skinny
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Honestly, I don't read much anymore, unless its a technical manual.
Movies: Horror Movies in general will always have a special place in my heart: good or bad.. Otherwise, I'm a huge movie buff and can latch on just about anything that can hold my interest.
Shows: Lost, Breaking Bad, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Trailer park boys, Workaholics, Its always sunny in Philadelphia, Louie, The Simpsons, The whitest Kids You Know, Seinfeld, curb your enthusiasm, Eastbound and Down, American Pickers.
Music: My musical tastes are definitely pretty eclectic and have certainly evolved over time but my roots stem from early punk/pop punk circa late 90's-early 2000's. Most recently, I have a new found appreciation for hip hop. I find that it can be very empowering and is a great start to a morning. Also, please note that I can't get into country music and jam bands are the bane of my existence.
Food: F-O-O-D, Food, Food. G-O-O-D, Good, Good! If you even remotely understand that musical reference, you deserve a medal. Anyway, food is pretty awesome. Nothing notable to list but I'm not picky and I'll try just about anything once or twice.
The six things I could never do without
My wonderful but small group of friends, my fam, Internet, music, movies, a sense of humor and a copy of the album Doolittle by The Pixies. I know that makes 7, but if the man is 5, than the devil is 6, and God is 7. Last musical reference, I promise.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why women are only recently obsessed with beards when only a few years ago it was reserved for pedophiles and the like.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with my entourage, presumably getting into no good or catching up with my good pals prime, netflix and hulu.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not going to lie, online dating terrifies me but I'm opting to remain positive about it.
You should message me if
You think we would get along or if you have a good horror movie recommendation.
