No one likes summarizing oneself, but here goes: I'm Brian. I'm 26. I have a beard. That covers the basics.

I'm here because I realized that it's been too long since I met anyone new, and a good friend convinced me to give OkCupid a try.

I work behind the scenes at a popular computer store with a fruity name. And in my spare time I'm usually reading a book, looking at art, or trying (and sometimes brewing) new beers.

Oh, analyzing and solving problems, like a good INTJ. I've been told that I'm really good at listening, and I like to think that I'm an awesome cook.

I've also been informed that I'm terrible at navigating, but I think I'm just good at finding the scenic route.

I'm not sure. I once had a "who's more pale" contest with a ginger and I won. So probably my paleness.

But I also I get a lot of complements on my smile. Can I just go with the smile?

Books: Quite a lot. I was an English major and I worked in a bookstore for three years. I really love Cormac McCarthy, Vladimir Nabokov, and Samuel Beckett. They're probably my favorite authors. And Kurt Vonnegut, Raymond Chandler, Neil Gaiman, John le Carré, oh, and I have a special place in my heart for Ray Bradbury and George Bernard Shaw.

And then there's the Hitchhiker's series. I love it. Yes, that's where my stupid username comes from.

Figuring out what to do next with my life. Once upon a time, I was a scholarly young lad charging towards grad school. That whole "financial meltdown" that took place in my senior year of college made me wary of an expensive, multi-year commitment at that point in my life/world history. So I went and had good times doing other things, but now I'm spending a lot of time thinking about going back to school.

And lately I've been spending a lot of time thinking about art and painting. I used to paint all the time, and I'm trying to get back to it. That's my daydreaming time.

Ideally, I'm unwinding with friends at a lowkey bar, trying, comparing, and arguing about different beers. (I said ideally because I have to work a lot of Friday nights.)

I don't know how to swim, I like Lana Del Rey, and I'm on OkCupid.
