My self-summary Propose an edit

I don't shy away from the fact that I'm different. I like to think of myself as something of a Renaissance man. I've got a wide array of interests and hobbies ranging from Martial Arts to Classical Music. I try to keep up with all of them but it can be a daunting task. I play pencil and paper RPG's with my friends and play in an orchestra.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm currently studying to be a composer, while working part time for my dad. Although I'd like to write for the concert hall and opera house, I fear those days are long gone. I'll settle for film.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

There's a reason I want to be a composer; I've got a really good ear for music. I can identify the score for just about every movie I've ever seen. I like to call it my superpower :P.

I've got a myriad of minor talents; poetry, writing, the violin, and making brilliant builds in DnD. I also have a few things I'm decent at through sheer stubbornness and no natural talent whatsoever, like drawing and karate.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

The Song of Ice and Fire Saga by George R.R. Martin (A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, especially A Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows was alright, at least). I also love almost everything written by Niel Gaiman including his graphic novels. Speaking of such things, I love Vertigo Comics, Especially Transmetropolitan and Preacher.

My first love in music will always be classical. From Bach to Mahler, I love it all. Well, not all. Taste has something to do with it and I still can't listen to the Pacabel Cannon or its 20th century counterpart, Bolero, and Wagner has always struck me as vulgar and useless, but other than that...

I also occasionally listen to more contemporary music. They Might Be Giants and Jonnathan Coulton fill out the geekiest portion thereof (what can I say, I love great lyrics). I've recently become obsessed with the Knights of Cydonia by Muse (yes, I realize it might be slightly overplayed). I recently worked out what its chords... but that's just the Music Theory training.

I have something of a professional interest in film scores as well. Danny Elfman remains my favorite film composers despite all of the bad blood between him and the snobbish musical elite.
