I'm some sort of hybrid nerd-hippie-mad scientist. I have too many interests. I like to try new things and see new places.

I'm an engineer at Embraer in Melbourne, FL. I love my job; I'd probably be designing and building things even if they didn't pay me for it.

I'm writing my master's thesis in financial mathematics. Every time I encounter a new term in the finance industry, I say to myself, "What the hell? People allow people to do this with other people's money?" And by people I mean: the government, banks, and everyday people. Possibly in that order.

I'm always trying to learn a new musical instrument. Sometimes more than one at a time.

I'm sarcastic and tend to add a witty commentary to everything around me.

Cooking. I think it's fun, but I don't do it often enough. I don't know how some people survive not knowing how to cook.

Tetris. I like simple repetitive logic games. I also like the "tetris effect" where you keep thinking about aligning blocks for a while after playing too much tetris. It also works with connect four, bejeweled, hexic, and a few others. Maybe I'm just slightly OCD and want to stack things and sort them by color?

I'm mildly entertaining for such a cynical bastard. Mmm, delicious sarcasms. Om nom nom nom.

I like intellectual books. My favorite is Voltaire's Candide. Then the usual stuff, like George Orwell's 1984, or even better, Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. The Illuminatus! Trilogy is fantastic. Stuff that "makes you think". I'm also a fan of Pratchett. Tolkien is good, but the mental gymnastics required to sort out his more in depth works like the Simarillion take some of the fun out of reading. I like to joke around with Lovecraftian horrors.

My favorite movie is probably The Life Aquatic. I like dystopian, life-isn't-supposed-to-be-perfect-just-deal-with-it movies.

I like all types of food, though I tend to avoid greasy "American" food. I'm a big fan of the Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants. Fajita burrito con red chili salsa y barbacoa equals serious business. I like spicy things. American style Mexican and Asian foods are good, but I like the real thing better. All ethnic foods are generally good, but it primarily depends on the specific item.

I've mostly abandoned TV except for Netflix and Hulu, recently only The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

I used to play a fair bit of video games, but not much recently, not for a while. The best game system ever is still the Super Nintendo. Long, story driven quests and pixelated graphics are where it's at. Team Fortress 2 used to be quite good, before they introduced hats and started selling items in game. I went to DragonCon 2009 dressed as a Red team Engineer. Spent 2 days being mistaken for Bob the Builder and letting parents take pictures of me with their kids.

The fact that there is no way I can condense everything about myself into something short enough to fit the average person's attention span and at the same time show that I have more than a two dimensional personality. Here's hoping you have a longer attention span.

I'm not afraid to stall an airplane, disassemble high voltage electronics, and I'm not even afraid of the unknown, but girls I think are cute make me nervous.

You need someone who can name a color, flavor, or other quality that seems familiar but you can't quite put your finger on it.

You are an independent, liberated woman who isn't afraid to make the first move. Because we're both busy people, and I'd hate either of us to miss something wonderful because we were looking the other way.
