My self-summary
My Moniker (soul-bare) says it all, really... I have put my real feelings out here and you can ask me anything and I'll share anything in my life. A LITTLE HISTORY: I had a half-dozen (frustrating, short) relationships in my 20s; then I was married to one lady thru my 30s, 40s, and half my 50s (that's when she disappeared into eternity), and just a couple desultory link-ups since then (seems like a lot of people my age have trouble just making time for another person in their lives), but I am over all the grief...so I will give you all the attention you can stand, or NSA physical affection, if that's what you want -- I make no demands on how a relationship works. If you read my profile here, you notice that I have NO qualms about being very open --- reading my answers plays the movie BEING SOUL-BARE.

"Love the life you live. Live the life you love. “
– Bob Marley
What I’m doing with my life
I found my life again after losing everything I had and everyone I loved; it happened when I stopped looking. I used to think of life as a journey, a pilgrimage with eternal purpose, and I was headed to some fabulous destination: success would come when I finally was where I needed to be, had what I wanted, was with whom I needed, whatever I spent all my life preparing for --- then I realized that would always be in the future, at a time I will never be...and I had missed the point the whole way along: LIFE is MUSIC played by the UNIVERSE so I should SING and DANCE now, with the COSMOS providing the SOUNDTRACK for my LIFE ! Want to make it a duet?
I’m really good at
Fixing anything about a computer, seeing another's point of view, talking things through, seeing the forest (there are trees??), explaining what's happening in relationships, working to redeem a seemingly impossible situation and making it win-win.

Finally, Finding a way to make it (life-&-all) work: everywhere I am they call me THE GLUE: I fit in everywhere and I hold things together. Unfortunately this tends to make me invisible, and nobody misses me until after I'm gone and the damn thing breaks again. So when I'm gone, recycle those pieces.
The first things people usually notice about me
They notice I'm actually looking back at them, with interest. If they talk to me, they want to figure me out and can't. This is OK with me. I'm still working on that too, but with less interest.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Fiction Authors: James Lee Burke (all his books), Clive Cussler, Robert Parker, Robert Charles Wilson (all), Ayn Rand (all her works), William Shakespeare (12 plays, all sonnets), Stephen Baxter, Nancy Kress (just a current list from the last 2 years), Dean Koontz, David Baldacchi, just finished another trilogy (WWW.) by R.J. Sawyer, about an emergent consciousness waking up on the internet (fascinating)

Past: Tom Robbins, John Updike (all his books), Ray Bradbury (all), Robert Heinlein (all), Isaac Asimov (I, Robot, Foundation), Mark Twain (all)

If you guessed that I tend to find a really great author and explore them thoroughly, you're both perceptive and right
(does that feel good? I like to make people smile)...I did this with every classical music composer out there, too!

Non-Fiction Authors: Brian Greene, Thomas Friedman, Ray Kurzweil, Stephen Hawking, James Michener, Benoit Mandelbrot (again, from the last 2 years)

Movies: Jurassic Park, Amadeus, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Powder, Avatar, X-Men, Knowing, The Adjustment Bureau, The Matrix, Magnolia, Doctor Zhivago, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, anything Clint Eastwood, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, David Lynch, Alfred Hitchcock, Roman Polanski, Federico Fellini, Steven Spielberg ...

TV: The Twilight Zone (B&W w Rod Serling), Jeopardy, NCIS, Two & Half Men, The Simpsons, anything on History Channel (especially Ancient Aliens and "real" Jesus stories), Discovery, BBC, Star Trek (the Original & Next Generation), NCIS, Stargate!

Music: AfroKelt Sound System, Sting, Genesis, Berlin Philharmoniker, Academy of Ancient Music, London Philharmonic, Beatles, CSNY, this list is actually too long....35 GB in my iTunes lib, half of it classical and I still have to add my old vinyls (mostly Deutsche Grammophon)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
For a minute or 2 last year, what I was putting into these text boxes and how to answer these questions! There are THOUSANDS of them?? It's amazing what people think is important. For the moment, I'm pretending there are real people who read this stuff and actually respond....I wonder if we should answer too many questions, that we have {virtually} already had the affair and ended the relationship with a sigh, without ever having met in person. Some clever lady posted a note here about a bar where you could see inside people's minds instead of just seeing their bodies ..I think we should call that video game ANGRY WORDS (or is that a rap contest --- Slim Shady, where have you gone? Our nation rubs its lonely eyes for you).

Nevertheless, I've been talking to a couple of ladies who answered more than a thousand questions, so I guess it's only fair I take some more time and try to catch up - that way I will have answered the questions that are important to you, and my chances of finding that special YOU should increase.

Are you still reading? Send me a note and ask me what you really want to know. If you make up your own question (did you know many of these questions are member-supplied?), I'll answer it...

OK, what occupies my mind these days, generally? How the cosmos is waking up, presently inhabiting our bodies as It's local presence, and what meaning do I want to create in life today? Here's an affirmation that I wrote, because I couldn't use any prayer or mantra I've ever heard):

Our Source is beyond Our power to name,
Yet 108 billion names and more hallow its name.
Authentic Authority is Here – as Above, so Below;
Authentic Power is Now – as Within, so Without.
What We need is given, when We need it.
As We are with Each Other,
So this day will be with Each of Us.
What We keep our Intention upon,
This! Will come to be…
Let There Be!
Authentic Authority
Authentic Power
and Authentic Celebration
- Here and Now.

If you think it sounds vaguely like an ancient famous prayer, you are right; I just couldn't use that one anymore with any honesty (see "religion" in my "basics").

I have become convinced that that "god" is waking up, that we are waking up god - We are that Consciousness that is becoming aware of It[Self]...think of me (and you) as the local, temporary presence of that Consciousness...and as John Lennon said, "I'm not the only one" [who thinks this is happening right now, all over the world].
On a typical Friday night I am
Right now, I'm retired and living alone in a very nice place in southwest Phoenix...the truth is I have plenty of free time to go with you somewhere (movie? museum? hike? dance?) ...on Friday nights I am probably soaking in our jacuzzi. If you want to come over here without thinking too much about it, my number and address are below (last paragraph). I welcome all visitors, especially if you found me here on this board...I can give you a suit if you want to swim in our heated pool....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm willing to admit my most private things, right here. If you see my answers to the questions, you know my most private things. Think of me as a virtual pinata (and feel free to beat me with verbal sticks), but you won't be disappointed with the candy. All my answers here are real. There's NOTHING I haven't made public, so be informed (or warned) about me. Be attracted, be repelled, be flummoxed, be frightened, be drawn like a moth to flame - doesn't matter to me, but DO just be YOU. I want someone real.
