My self-summary
My name is Zach, and I'm glad to meet you. I'm 26 and currently reside in the Grand Rapids area, originally from the East side of Michigan. I focus a lot of my time on work, gaining new experiences and trying to learn something new everyday. Read on to learn more. $5 says you find something you like.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I'm a Producer/Director/Sports Videographer at a PBS station and I also do some graphic design and assistant directing for a local Division II university.
I’m really good at
Also known as the "toot your own horn" section. I take great pride in my work, and I'm great at following directions and orientating myself to get whatever the job is done. I also love problem-solving, whatever the category be it work-related, mechanical or electrical or personal. I've been known to cause a good laugh or two as well.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my...glasses? Hair? Beard? Shouldn't this be a question for my friends?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've always loved good television and films, way too many to list. I love Say Anything.. The boom box scene is one of my favorite scenes of all time. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is timeless and the best movie from the 80's, Tarantino writes some of the best spoken word in all of cinema, Pulp Fiction being a prime example. The Little Mermaid is my favorite childhood Disney film (Under the Sea is the happiest song in existence). The Bourne Identity is the best and smartest action movie, and The Dark Knight is maybe the best movie we'll ever see. I'm really open to any and everything though.

TV wise - I'm very into good, smart serialized dramas. LOST and Breaking Bad are at the top of the list, along with Mad Men, Friday Night Lights and an old NBC show from the early '00's called Ed. I've been with The Office from the beginning, Arrested Development was/is way too good for its time while Parks and Recreation and Modern Family provide most of my laugh-out-loud moments. I love the smart humor and satire underneath South Park's surface-level juvenile appearance and have a huge respect for the two guys who put that together in record time every week, being a broadcaster myself.

Speaking on books, I spent most of my college life reading books I didn't want to be reading and I haven't done too much outside if that. I have been making my way through The Walking Dead very slowly if that counts.

I love a lot of different styles of music, except Country and Heavy Metal. Most Alternative Rock, The Beatles, MJ, Explosions in the Sky, or anything with a great beat are my go-tos.
The six things I could never do without
1. Family. Without it, it's impossible to have the strength or the motivation to do great things.

2. My watch. I just feel really weird without it. Like I'm naked or something.

3. My glasses. Wouldn't have made it too far typing this stuff, that's for sure.

4. Good stories. Sometimes I feel that life is just waiting to hear the next great story, and the things that happen during waiting periods are the best stories of all.

5. Texas Roadhouse's Caesar Salad. It's a fantastic restaurant that serves the best salad ever. Pretty sure the dressing has severely addicting drugs in it.

6. People Skills. Because without this, you're going to have a hard time doing anything.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Learning from mistakes. I constantly over-analyze things that may have not gone the way I had hoped, no matter what it is, and try to think of things that could be done to improve the results next time. I'm also always thinking about how everything happens for a reason, and the little things that happen that eventually cause big events or changes. Very fascinating stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
As of recently, working. Also been known to see a movie or have game nights with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My eyesight is terrible. -10 in both eyes. I'm also an Eagle Scout, and in times past when I've met girls I'm interested in, I talk faster than an auctioneer for no reason. Or it's just nerves. Probably that.
