I am verbose, sharp as a tack, and a hoot.

My Self-Summary

Who I am right now is, I guess, a guy that's trying very hard to get his life pointed in the right direction. I've spent ten years bouncing around the country, having a blast, sure, but not really... you know... DOING anything. Good times are great for hilarious stories, but they don't give you much of a purpose and they also make you a broke old man crying in a smelly bar years and years down the line.

Not too huge on that happening to me. Soooo... trying to be a better person; a guy who accomplishes stuff and rocks the responisibility and so forth. I'm also trying to not lose that fun-dude spark that I feel makes me... well, me. If nothing else, being me in the here and now is certainly not boring.

What I’m doing with my life

At the moment, I'm going back to school. Shooting for a BA in Hospitality Management, which is a fancy way of saying that I'm on the track that will teach me how to, one day, open my own bar. That's the dream, anyway.

Other than that, I'm just trying to get reconnected with friends and family back here in Arlington. Been away a long time; lot of catching up to do.

I’m really good at

I'm a great conversationlist, quick with a joke, I know a lot about movies and baseball and I can even do a magic trick (which is incredibly geeky, granted, but I'm still convinced I can use it to save my life one day by making my attacker think I'm a wizard).

I know my way around a kitchen, at least a little bit; I can sing karaoke with a passion and enthusiasm usually reserved for things that actually matter; I enjoy drinking adult beverages amongst friends.

I am literally the perfect person in the world with which to get snuggled on the couch and watch bad horror movies and eat chinese food. It's true! I can prove it with a calculator and some graph paper.

The first things people usually notice about me

My shocking good looks. Oh, but seriously... I'd have to say my eyes. They are blue and people seem to enjoy them.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite moves: Annie Hall, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original), Goodfellas, Die Hard, Evil Dead, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Star Wars (original trilogy only), anything by Ingmar Bergman, anything hilarious and/or scary.

Books: Kitchen Confidental by Anthony Bourdain, Microserfs by Douglas Coupland, Seasons in Hell by Mike Shropshire, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Without Feathers by Woody Allen, all Chuck Klosterman's writings, anything by Mike Nelson, Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis

TV: The Simpsons, 30 Rock, The Office, Buffy, Firefly, Family Guy, King of the Hill, Six Feet Under, Futurama, Sportscenter, Mr. Show, Sports Night, Iron Chef

Music: The Beatles; Ben Folds; Tom Waits; The Hold Steady; The Shins; Bruce Springsteen; David Bowie; Mates of State; Thin Lizzy; Barenaked Ladies; The Cure; Prince; Joe Tex; Love; Gogol Bordello; The White Stripes; Okervil River; Nick Cave; Leonard Cohen; The Zombies; Queen; Warren Zevon; Johnny Cash; George Strait; The Beastie Boys; Wu-Tang; Merle Haggard; Dr. Hook; The Killers

Food: My three favorites foods are buffalo wings, burritos, and BBQ. The fact that they all start with a "B" is merely a delicious coincedence.

The six things I could never do without

Gum (bit of an addict), a car, Netflix, beer, my friends, Sportscenter

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I would do in the event of a zombie uprising. Between you and me, I think I'd do awesome.

On a typical Friday night I am

These days, I'm studying a most Friday nights. However, I do like going to the movies, hang out with whomever happens to be around, maybe grilling out over at my Dad's place.

Truthfully, since moving back home a few months ago to Arlington from New York, my social life has kind of... atrophied, for lack of a better word.

I could definitely stand to get out more.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That song Poker Face by Lady Gaga? I fucking LOVE that song.

You should message me if

You like having a good conversation over coffee or a few beers or a bottle of Everclear passed around in an alley. Message me if you're really into movies or music and book store's get you kind of hot, too. Message me if you've got a great personality and are interesting and generally fun to be around.

I will do my best not to let you down.
