My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a game developer (programmer) currently living my childhood dream of actually working in the industry. I've known that this is where I wanted to be since I was about 5 or 6 years old. I'm a pretty solid introvert (INFJ apparently), but can warm up to people fairly quickly. And if you get me on a subject of mutual interest, we can probably talk for hours.

Originally from a northern suburb of Chicago, I came here for my schooling at DePaul University. Ever since moving here, I feel in love many aspects of the city, with the exception of not being able to see a good view of the stars.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently working as a programmer at a Chicago video game company. I love the work that I do, and really want to make something that makes people feel awesome and have fun! I sometimes have late nights, but when I don't, I'm usually browsing the web, catching up on my backlog of games, or chilling with friends by playing some board/card games like Resistance or Story War.

Recently if I don't have plans during the weekend, I usually try to brush up on some random skills like guitar or programming, or go out on random adventures around the city to try and have fun.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Rhythm games/keeping a beat. I still need to find a good use for this skill, but I manage to out do and surprise my friends every time it comes up.

Drunk air guitar comes up at a close second.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My "Cthulu" beard, as one of my friends has put it.

I started growing one out of desperation for a game I was working on in April 2013 (which finally came out in late November 2013). It also coincided with the whole Blackhawks Playoff Beard thing, so I just ran with it. After the Blackhawks won (yay!), I thought about shaving it off, but it kinda grew on me. [Feel free to groan here]

I've been learning to maintain it and trimming it down from time to time, but winter is coming...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I could list out numerous things for each category, but I'll try to stick to one for each to leave some talking points.

Book: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (series)
Movie: UHF
TV Show: Archer
To give some context for each of those, Comedy is my favorite genre. I love anything that makes me laugh; bonus points if its intelligent humor. Second favorite genre is probably tied between Sci-fi and Action. (Only now do I see that Battleship 2013 is my favorite movie of all time.) Then last to mention is probably Mystery (how did Battleship become a movie?!).

Music: Anamanaguchi - Japan Air
I can enjoy anything but Country, but my favorite genre in this regard would have to be Chip-tune/Electronic.

Food: Italian (Pasta, pizza, etc)
Only thing I'm picky about is that I usually don't do spicy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My dad,
a clear night sky,
a sense of progress,
a sense of belonging,
a sense of humor,
my Steam account.

... I could probably live without my Steam account, but it would take a period of grieving.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why people do the things they do,
how I can help make the world a better place while still enjoying life on my terms,
what side-project I should work on next,
what game from my backlog should I knock out next,
what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm socially and mentally exhausted, a night in playing games or watching Netflix.
If just socially exhausted, working on various side-projects.
If just mentally exhausted, with my friends at a house party, drinking and shooting the shit.
If none of the above, playing board/video games with a group of friends, or planning laser-tag.
If it's one of those rare months in Chicago when the weather is nice and not blistering cold, going on an outing to the beach, or playing kickball, or something of the like.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I own a Legend of Zelda themed Ocarina that I bought from Ren Faire, and I only know how to play the Market Theme from Ocarina of Time.

Also, I may have introduced our office to Nerf Warfare, which has started an arms race and various impromptu free-for-alls after 6pm.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.

You think a date at the Ren Faire would be a grande ol' time;
You want to kick my butt in a game while sharing laughs;
You saw something that caught your eye and want to know more. :P
