My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well this is a story all about how
my life got summed up and writ down
And I'd like to take a minute, if you've got the time
I'll tell you how I became the guy with this profile online

In West Massachusetts I was born and raised
But in Portland is where I spend most of my days
As an architect, designin' all fine and all cool
And all dreamin' up houses, offices + schools
Then a couple of nights, I get up to no good
Hittin' up a pub around my neighborhood
I'll order one little pint of some bomb craft ale
And say "I really love the hops in this India Pale!"

I bike, I brew, I climb, I camp, I travel around
My humor's kinda dry and my sarcasm abounds
If anything, you could say this gimmick is square
But I think you'll remember this bro with red hair!

I roll back to the house and I'm thinkin 'bout crashin
Then I see in my inbox "Yo Homes, you got matches!"
So send me a message, I'll reply if you're fair!
Just think about all the good times we could share!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I grew up in Boston, moved to Washington, DC in 2008, back to Boston in 2010, and to Portland in Fall 2012. Somewhere in between I lived in a tent in New Mexico, a hundred square foot hotel room in Shanghai, and as a nomad for about five months. I try not to let my roots grow too thick anywhere. My most prized possession is my National Parks Pass. I'm a wandering soul. If you get homesick, we probably won't get along.

Between 9 and 5 I try to save the planet with real estate.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Imagining. Public speaking. Inventing words. Playing one-sided improv games with unwitting friends and strangers.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My gingah fringe-ah.

(a) Anything by Tom Robbins - Still Life with Woodpecker & Half asleep in Frog Pajamas are both fantastical. I'm also mildly obsessed with Middlesex - I'd never fallen in love with a fictional character before I read this book. I don't read as many novels as I'd like to, mostly because I find myself constantly consumed by various political & philosophical articles online.

(b) Hedwig and the Angry Inch (the soundtrack more than the film), The Departed, The Five Obstructions, Back to the Future (1 and 2, but not 3), Eternal Sunshine of the Spoteless Mind (I've met Michel Gondry, and you haven't), The Jerk, Wristcutters, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Big Lebowski, Fargo ...really anything by the Coen Brothers, or pretty much any documentary.

(c) Arrested Development, Arrested Development, Arrested Development, Bob's Burgers, Parks & Recreation, Freaks and Geeks Futurama, Breaking Bad, Frisky Dingo, No Reservations. I wish Anthony Bourdain was my dad.

(d) My preferences are pretty fluid, but here's a few perennial favorites: Mike Doughty / Soul Coughing, Ben Folds, Boards of Canada, Xploding Plastix The Bad Plus, Hudson Mohawke, Minus the Bear, The New Pornographers, Radiohead, Shpongle, The Decemberists, The Talking Heads, Eyedea & Abilities, Dizzee Rascal, Outkast, Childish Gambino, and so on. I'm also harboring a closeted infatuation with Kanye West.

(e) Offal. Real Chinese food. Fake Mexican food. Raw things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(1) Beer. Really, really good beer.

(2) chapstick

(3) a Piano

(4) Iced Coffee

(5) Intimacy

(6) Curiosity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
All those tattoos I'll probably never get.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Spending far too much money on expensive drinks and spouting off about four times as much brewing knowledge as my friends want to hear.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think crying children are hilarious.
