My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I'm Kyle. Pretty creative start right there right? I'm pretty mellow and relaxed. I am very into history and most of my tattoos are something historic, each one means a lot to me. A lot of my friends have graduated or simply taken off while I was deployed so mostly I am looking for "cool" people to hang out with, cool being somewhere above knowing who Tolstoy is and below speaking Klingon fluently.

I am musically challenged, my 6th grade band teacher told me that I "have no rhythm." Therefore, I prefer to simply listen to music. I make up for it some by sketching and writing.

Books are a bit of a passion/ obsession of mine and my apartment is overflowing with them. I have... 2,000ish I think.

I have a dog named Rosie, a German Shepard-Greyhound mix, that I love very much. She is very important to me, and very affectionate.

I am a bit odd... and occasionally eccentric. My friends often describe me as "weird...but in a good way." I will occasionally latch on to a stupid joke and do it for years even if I am the only one who knows said joke.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've recently returned from Afghanistan and I'm back to working on my degree at IU. I am majoring in History, focusing on European history between 1740 and 1945 so that is pretty exciting right? I also am studying Political Science, Central Eurasian Studies, and Comparative Literature, so my schooling is all pretty practical haha. I am planning on doing something that involves a lot of traveling, of which I have a basic plan.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Typing this sentence. I don't know...I can write a damn essay on Thucydides and then dig a straight trench with a bobcat...ta-da! My skill-set!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I smile pretty much all the time, even if it is only a "smart-assed" grin.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love reading, particularly older literature such as: Remarque (The Road Back), Dostoevsky(The Idiot), Tolstoy (everything), Lovecraft, Zola (La Debacle), Poe, Hugo, Fallada (Wolf Among the Wolves), and Nietzsche (Thus Spoke Zarathustra). Also, I really enjoy history books, particularly on military campaigns. Occasionally I will read science fiction or fantasy like Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Heinlein, Orwell, Huxley, Star Wars novels, Turtledove novels, or the Song of Ice and Fire series that I knocked out this summer.

As far as movies go its usually comedies or war movies, such as Letters From Iwo Jima, All Quiet on the Western Front, Paths of Glory, and pretty much anything by Mel Brooks or Monty Python. I also like movies that have a sort of trippy effect on my mind like Donnie Darko and Apocalypse Now.

I listen to mostly Rock and Country. Rise Against, Starset, Green Day, Luke Bryan, Breaking Benjamin, Jason Aldeen, Alkaline Trio, Led Zeppelin, Blink 182, AC/DC, Merle Haggard, System of a Down, Linkin Park, Johnny Cash, Three Days Grace, AFI, Oomph!, Rammstein, We Came as Romans, Journey, Blue October, and of course occasionally Shostakovitch or Wagner.

I don't watch a lot of tv. The History Channel has gone to shit... a pawn stars marathon followed by how aliens/ghosts/griffins constructed human civilization is not history. When I step off of my soap box however I enjoy Blackadder, Community, Flying Circus, Firefly, Bob's Burgers, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and whatever loosely historical show about Rome HBO has.

I really enjoy Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. Goat was something that I was not initially fond of but its grown on me a lot. Whiskey is of course my preferred drink, or a decent beer that does not have "light/lite" in the name. Guinness and Baltika are my favorites.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My truck, my dog, my books, music (this is not an exaggeration, I cannot stand being in a vehicle without some music playing), my Gerber, and some 6th thing...I guess hats, I enjoy hats.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Existence, history, what my next tattoo will be, bullshit...random tangents, etc
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, spending time at bars or parties, or just relaxing at the end of the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I made a profile on this site. Also I used to have what is commonly known as a "Jew-fro" and I have a deep love of musicals.

You want to talk or hang out or whatever. If you are interested in invading Poland that would be a fun first meeting :) Also I am actually in the market for friends so romantic desire is not necessary to send me a message. I also appreciate those who are willing to be forward with me and take the first step.

Congratulations! You reached the end of the page, so you have won the grand prize! A flock of quaggas will be on your doorstep within a fortnight.
