My self-summary
I'm a geeky, socially-awkward boy who wants to be a writer. I like novels, computers, anime, and the smell of the desert after it rains.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a poet and a programmer.

What I really want to do with my life is to become a novelist. I've been writing short stories and novels since I was a child, and I believe writing is what will save the world. I hope to continue writing throughout graduate school and during my career. My dream is for someone, somewhere out there, to one day read a book by me, and realize "I am not alone."

But for now, I'm a PhD student in statistics at Purdue University. I work developing methods for mass spectrometry imaging analysis. I hope to get into the technology industry after I graduate, and work on creating awesome new software for the Googles, Microsofts, and Apples of the world, before eventually going back to teach at a tribal college and help my fellow Natives.

While writing novels that will save the world.
I’m really good at
I think I'm a good writer. The publishing industry doesn't agree. Yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I like to listen more than I like to talk.

But when I talk, I mean everything I say.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite authors are Haruki Murakami and David Mitchell. I also love David Foster Wallace, Jonathan Safran Foer, Brett Easton Ellis, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I think the best movie of all time is the anime "End of Evangelion." But if we're talking live-action, I like Johnny Depp's early films. My favorites are "Arizona Dream" and "Dead Man."

I'm a big fan of Satoshi Kon's films, especially "Paprika" and "Millenium Actress." RIP, Kon-san. I won't let people forget that Darren Aronofsky and Christopher Nolan still rip off your work.

My favorite shows are "The X-Files" and "Neon Genesis Evangelion." I also enjoy "Californication" (doesn't get much better than David Duchovny playing a drunk playboy writer who just wants to love his family). My other favorite series include "Serial Experiments Lain" and "Revolutionary Girl Utena." Yes, "Game of Thrones" is pretty cool, too.

My favorite bands are Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree. I enjoy just about any of Steven Wilson's projects. I like bands like Rush and King Crimson, as well as The White Stripes, the Indelicates, and Bright Eyes. I also enjoy J-pop. Mostly Utada Hikaru, Stereopony, the Pillows, and Gackt. And whatever anime OST I'm currently listening to.

I like all kinds of food. I have a special place in my heart for New Mexican food. I love Japanese food, especially sushi and ramen. You could say I'm always trying to learn how to cook.
The six things I could never do without
My computer. I'm too much of a technophile.
My iPad. It's my e-reader as well as my typewriter.
My long hair. It reminds me of my culture when nothing else will.
The sun, the moon, and the stars. Because they give me hope.
Other people. Because we can't stop trying to communicate.
My imagination. Because it's what I use to create.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How humanity itself is kind of like a god.
How we're alive, so there's always hope.
How to get my clustering algorithm to work.
How to write the next chapter.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'd like to say "writing," but I'm usually watching anime, reading a book, posting online (because there's always someone wrong on the internet), or hanging out with friends with beer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't think I look bad in a skirt.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–27
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You think I might be interesting, and you're a nerdy, creative, and maybe a little awkward and crazy.
