My self-summary
I'm moving up to Madison within the month. Not Quite there yet.
TL:DnR version:
I am a feminist polygeek, which has two different (and true) interpretations. I'm a gamer, mostly table top, and a cook, mostly wonderful. I love to read, though since I am in grad school, I do less of that then I want. My sense of humor is sometimes obscure. I'm looking for people to go out with and to stay in with and to fill all the days with fun and laughter and late night discussions. I'm looking first for friends. If anything else comes of it? Awesome! But if not? New Friends!
Also, if you want to play a Parsley Game, I have at least one on hand all the time.

" And when things get tough, this is what you should do.

Make good art.

I'm serious. Husband runs off with a politician? Make good art. Leg crushed and then eaten by mutated boa constrictor? Make good art. IRS on your trail? Make good art. Cat exploded? Make good art. Somebody on the Internet thinks what you do is stupid or evil or it's all been done before? Make good art. Probably things will work out somehow, and eventually time will take the sting away, but that doesn't matter. Do what only you do best. Make good art.

Make it on the good days too."
-Neil Gaiman

I am, and every will be, a geek. I love science and science fiction and fantasy, and all of the things. I like to explore new subjects and reexamine old ones. I try not to draw a line between work and play, and were I religious, all of life would be my prayer. Instead of the numinous, I I seek joy and light and laughter, both for my self and to share. I believe strongly that joy shared is joy multiplied and that sorrow shared is sorrow divided.
I love games. In fact I am in school right now studying them. I have a reasonably large collection of rpgs, board games, and video games. My room is full of bookshelves, and they spill over into the rest of my house.
I have 4 adorable rats, named after the norns and an additional norse divinity (Pictures in an album in my photos)
I cook. I'm always working on either improving a recipe or finding a new one. I'm not a vegetarian, but I can cook like one as neede. I am particularly proud of my pizza and my asparagus chicken.
I'm both outgoing and a little shy. I love being with groups, but I am not always aware of all of the standard social cues, so I often sit back and watch new groups of people for a while so I can figure out what the local mores are.
I'm poly and kinky and a switch, all of which feed and are fed by my love of play and exploration. I am an active feminist, an aficionado of models of consent. I trust early and often and perhaps too much, but the alternative is too terrible to be considered. Trust and you might be betrayed. Don't trust and you betray yourself. I love words. I love talking. I love listening. I love conversations that stretch out into the early hours of the morning. I love life, and my bike, and my rats and my roommate's corgi, and Cat, our cat.
What I’m doing with my life
I am upsetting my whole life and tying to regain focus as a game designer and trying to figure out what to do next. I am looking for more people to walk through life along side. I'm turning my pillows funny colors with the dye that is turning my hair funny colors. I am a year-round cyclist. I spend a lot of my time designing games. I don't sleep as much as I should.
I just got a new camera, so I currently take lots of pictures.
I am switching my diet to one lower in sodium and learning all sorts of new recipes on the way through.
I just made my first successful wild sourdough starter.
I'm coding a lot right now. And debugging code.

I'm good at looking through the inconsequential trappings and finding the core. Not always so great at the part that comes next.
Cuddling. I am apparently warm and cuddly. I can live with that.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair is varicolored in unnatural hues.
My headphones are big (I break the little ones. If you see me with my head phones on, feel free to "interrupt".)
I'm probably on a bike.
My shirt is almost certainly emblazoned with something geeky.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm currently in grad school. Working on game design. I spend all of my free time thinking about, well, game design and programming. And what it would be like to have a job with set hours each week.
On a typical Friday night I am
Making dinner and playing games with friends, either Pathfinder or boardgames. Good food, good friends, good beer. And a bunch of funny dice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ooh! I thought of one. I don't drive. I have a license, I keep it up to date, but I haven't actually driven a car since I was 18. One of these days I should probably change that.

There is a Dresden Files Larp in the works. I'm not a larp person, but for that I would learn.
Especially in text, I am occasionally a little verbose... Though in person I like to listen to people speak. A lot.

I tend to be withdrawn with new groups of people at first. I'm not great at figuring out social dynamics on the fly, so I like to sit and see how a group interacts before taking too active of a role. So if I am quiet, I'm having fun, I'm just trying to make sure I don't mess up anyone else's fun.

I love the word "boink" for all things sex. It isn't that I don't like all of the other words, but "Boink" is full of laughter and joy and happiness.

I'm on fetlife as well: https://fetlife.com/users/2317678
