I am silly, yet serious, and mostly sane.
My Self-Summary
For info:

I'm a political pragmatist, closet romantic, and passionate
procrastinator (and apparently a lover of alliteration). I'm
working on the last few major character deficiencies (as defined by
me): out of shape, lack of drive (outside of my career), and the
aforementioned procrastination tendencies. Overall though, I like
who I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, working a great job, living in a wonderfully cute city
in
Marin... close to
nature and
San
Francisco... doing a lot of daytime dad stuff... life can't get
much better than this.
Traveling a lot for work... keeping busy between that, parenting,
and a minor amount of socializing.
I’m really good at
Taking care of my son, reading and writing
poetry, movie critiquing, making
mix cds, laughing,
taking things as they come.
I'm also really good at thinking about the future of my industry,
localization.
I get to influence what direction the industry takes. I know that
might come across as egotistical, but it's very niche, so I really
believe the work I do at my current company will have a lasting
influence on everyone, which, if you knew me, might scare you a
bit. ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
- In general: My blue eyes
- In a work setting: My serious and outgoing demeanor (I don't
mind telling the CEO exactly what my thoughts are on a particular
subject.)
- In social settings: The amount of goofy/silly things that come
out of my mouth
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I never seem to remember all of the stuff I enjoy when updating my

progress.

The six things I could never do without
- Quality time with my son
- Caffeine
- Sex (with or
without the kink)
- Media intake (books, movies, music)
- facilitated by my Tivo
- and my iPod
(yes, I am a good consumerist whore, thank
you)
For the record, the following answers for this question have
officially jumped the shark:
- listing six literal things you need for basic survival
- listing more than six things to indicate what a rebel you
are
- refusing to answer because "this question is stupid" (but that
goes for most of the questions in this profile)
- seemingly completely random words chosen to indicate how sofa
king crazy you are
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what the hell we're gonna do about the "friendly"
fascism in this country, how do I
go about writing great poetry, how do I then get it published
(well, ok, I know the answer to that one... stop being so damn
lazy), general
existential angst, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
at the movies, visiting with my brother's family, hanging out with
my son, or some combination there of. I've also been known to
indulge in "the karaoke", blogger/
flickr meetups, and random coffee house
poetry readings.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm starting to reevaluate my political and spiritual beliefs:
- Being "The Man" is not all it's cracked up to be.
- The existence or non-existence of God is not really important
when trying to figure out how to live a spiritual life.
- I have a responsibility to counteract the advantages my white,
male privilege has afforded me.
You should message me if
This is an OR list, not an AND list:
- If you're looking for a no-frills movie-going friendship.
- If you can handle that I'm a dad, and that it's an extremely
important part of my life.
- You like to geek out to any of the following: poetry, comic
books, music, movies
- You're political, left or libertarian leaning, and support
Obama (Yes We
Can!)
