I love four things without fail:
music,
writing,
photography and
thoughtful
conversation.
These are the bricks that hold me up from the inside and help my
thoughts not to shake so much when answers are hard to come by. I
cherish autumn mornings, hand-written letters, short stories,
silent films, farmland, thunderstorms and urgent napkin
poems.
I am decidedly
INFP.
Whatever that means, to you.
I am a self-employed web developer and occasional freelance
photographer who will never shoot another wedding in my life, so
help me Cosmos. I like patience, adventurousness, creativity,
spontaneity, esteem (of some kind), hopefulness, honesty,
reasonableness, compassion, awareness, laughter and, above all, the
ability to communicate deeply (and without defenses). Also, I'm not
a fan of screaming. Or excessive/crutch-leg sarcasm.
In my free time, I enjoy spilling the scattered thoughts of my
brain across a keyboard or a Moleskine notebook. Some call this
poetry; I call it therapy. I also enjoy making one-off, free-verse
song compositions. I choose not to edit or re-record these songs. I
could, and I understand why people do, but there is plenty of time
for obsessive perfectionism in most any other aspect of my life. It
is important to me to have something that just
is. I've also
recently started painting.
My favorite instruments to explore in my little music room are the
pump organ, chord organ, guitar, synthesizer, thumb piano, cello,
violin, banjo, acoustic bass and, very recently, the autoharp. My
neighbors and their assortment of kids are very loud and often find
their way onto my recordings. I wish I could sleep in longer than
I'm able to because of it, but I can't say I mind their noises as
audible artifacts. Those days, they're like birds roosting loudly
off in the distance of some sunset tree.
I want to meet people who want the things that I like: who believe
in self; who want the best for the world; who love fiercely and
without apology; crave the sanctuary and freedom of community; love
to create; and are probing and willing to manifest kindness and
empathy in everyday life.
(If that doesn't make any sense or sounds over the top, I don't
know what to say. If it does make sense, I guess we'd probably get
along pretty well. Drop me a line sometime with something else that
makes sense.)
There are incredible people here.
