I am arrogant, charismatic, and articulate.
My Self-Summary
I'm just plain me. I'm a fairly average person in most ways. I
believe in balance in all things; I blend optimism and pessimism,
realism and idealism. My values are a blend of tradition and
progress.
I seek happiness above all things. I also want to make a positive
difference in the world. I like having new experiences and meeting
new people. I'm friendly and open. I'd like to explore the world,
when I get the chance.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a
teacher. I
teach high school English, and I just got my National Board
Certification! I'm also a part-time instructor at the local Sylvan
Learning Center. One of my goals this year is to enroll in grad
school (probably online). I think I'd like to get my master's in
English Ed, but I'm not sure... Some of my friends think I should
do administration; I've also been told I'd be a great guidance
counselor. So who knows what the future holds?
I’m really good at
I'm good at bringing out the best in people, at seeing the positive
in most situations, at solving problems and getting organized, and
at writing long but grammatically correct sentences. I'm good at
board games
and
video
games, too. Woot!
I am not so good at it, but I really enjoy
rock climbing and would love to
find a regular partner.
The first things people usually notice about me
Eyes... I have pretty blue eyes. And a great smile. I smile often
and easily. Not to mention my sweet personality.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
a) I love reading. That's why I'm an English teacher. I mostly
enjoy contemporary literature, but I like a wide variety of books.
I have a few all time favorites, including (but not limited to)
The Dice
Man by Luke Rhinehart,
Anansi Boys
and
Stardust by
Neil Gaiman,
The Town That Forgot How to Breathe by Kenneth J. Harvey,
Q&A by
Vikas Swarup, and
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.
Currently Reading:
A
Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.
b) In general, I enjoy a wide variety of genres--comedy, horror,
musical, martial arts, and suspense. Some all-time favorites are
The
Nightmare Before Christmas and
RENT. Most recent
movie I saw in theaters:
Saw 6.
c) I like a variety of music, and I love concerts! My most recent
concert was Maxwell... not my usual type but it was cool. My
current favorites are
Kevin Rudolf and
Fall Out Boy.
d) Your boy can cook! I'm trying to reduce what I eat, though. I
like almost everything except seafood.
e) TV:
Top Chef,
Project
Runway,
Pushing
Daisies (sad that it got canceled) :-(
Lie To Me
The six things I could never do without
1. a positive outlook
2. a gym membership
3. a credit card
4. a cell phone
5. the internet
6. a source of entertainment
I spend a lot of time thinking about
whatever is on my mind at the moment. I think a lot. About pretty
much everything. I tend to overanalyze.
On a typical Friday night I am
somewhere. There is no such thing as "typical" with me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a need to feel perfect about everything, but it's not so bad
as it used to be.
I just got out of a poisonous relationship. I'm not in "rebound" or
"desperately seeking" mode... just casually testing my feet in the
waters again. I'm a little reluctant to get involved quickly at
this time. Slow and steady.
You should message me if
you are an intelligent and interesting person who would like to
talk to a like-minded individual.
