At the top of the screen they are telling me to punch a rapper to win a free Ipod or something like that. And to be honest, it doesn't sound like a good deal.

I want to save the world, and have a lot of fun in the process. I do data entry during the day (I process personality tests!) and I'm a grad student in the evening.

Ok, apparently this OK Cupid thing (formerly the truly awesome Sparkmatch!) has me pegged as someone who is very "pure" and "mathematical." Doesn't that just spell out SEXY to you? "Whoah, check out that hunk over there! He looks so pure. Is that a slide rule in his pocket?!?"

I took a test recently which told me I am... messy, disorganized, not rule conscious, rebellious, rash, weird, ambivalent about chaos, likes bizarre things, anti-authority, not good at saving money, not a perfectionist, leaves many things unfinished, low self control, strange, desires more attention, romantic daydreamer, abstract, impractical, unproductive, leisurely, likes the unknown. In other words, the kind that your mom will just love. Actually, moms always do love me.

I have to say something. OkCupid is not the real world. OkCupid conversations are not real conversations, OKFriends are not real friends. They can lead to real friendships, but that friendship requires shared space, a shared vision. It requires stepping out from behind the keyboard.

If you aren't willing to take another step, I will at some point be calling you a coward. Or a fool. Because I'm nice like that.

I'm a hella good cook. I'm in school to be a teacher.

One of my favorite things to do is to click on "BAD Matches" and send them messages like "Hey, we're a horrible match... want to get together and make demon babies?"

I've heard, my dimples. Why do people dig dimples? This thing says I'm not thrifty. I think that means I'm not cheap. But you see, I am cheap. I wash my jeans in the bathtub. ("Why, you crazy old bastard", you ask? Let me tell you! I can save about four dollars, and it's a lot less wear on the clothes than the washing machine!) But I really enjoy saving money just to blow it on people I know. Once I bought about $20 worth of trinkets to give away while I'm substitute teaching.

I'm not going to answer that. One thing about me (yes, let's talk about ME ME ME ME!) is that on almost all of the questions I put that it's irrelevant what the woman answers. And that's because I can imagine a perfectly moral, thoughtful person answering any one of the answers. I like different people, different ideas.

How would a library handle the Harry Potter rollout? Yes, an unimaginative one would order 2 or maybe 5 copies if they were generous. Then they would have a waiting list for people to check them out.

But in my dream library, we had fun in costumes, temporary tattoos, making potions and little exploding things (outside of course) and fortunetelling (which pissed off the conservative church members down the street)

And at 12 midnight, we opened the book that we ordered. I and a couple friends then started reading the first few chapters to all the kids, acting out the voices for the rapt crowd of nerdlings.

In the months before, I had a lottery ticket jar to see who would get to take the book home. For free you could put your name in, once per day. For a quarter you could put it in twice.

After reading for a couple hours, the name was drawn and Harry Potter went home with the lucky child.

I have a tendency to find something I like and overdo it to the extreme. A favorite videogame, a person, a kind of food. Recently I ate 3.5 pounds of baked beans during a 24 hour period. I'm still shocked at that one.

Whenever I get messages it makes me happy. When I look and see that I have 4 or 5, part of my brain thinks "ooh, I'm so popular!" That's right, I'm in OKCupid High School.
