I am amaturishly artistic, cautiously daring, and shyly outgoing.
My Self-Summary
Alright, I'll rewrite this again.
How to describe me...Hmmm....This is a difficult question, even
though I have put a lot of thought into it. I guess that's one part
of me - very
introspective. If you've seen
School for Scoundrels, I'd probably fit into that class
pretty well (even if you haven't seen it I would, but if you
haven't seen it then don't think I mean that I'm a scoundrel 'cause
I'm not).
I'm relatively
intelligent, however that doesn't
stop me from doing some pretty
unintelligent things. If you know
the difference, I'd say I'm intelligent but not wise (once again,
not sure why I made that a conditional statement...I'm that way
whether you know the difference or not. I'll try to stop doing that
now). BTW, in case you didn't recognize it, the parenthesized
remarks above are a somewhat feeble attempt on my part to be
funny. If you get to
know me, you'll find that I really am funny sometimes (other times
just smile and pretend that I was funny and we'll get along fine :)
).
I think I'll take a moment now to explain my 3 adjectives (along
with the 3 adverbs I threw in so they'd be more accurate).
Amateurishly Artistic
I like to
draw. I
don't do it very often, and I pretty well suck at it, but I still
enjoy doing it. I have several books about drawing, and I go
through occasional periods of time where I try to improve my
skills, but usually I end up frustrated with my lack thereof and so
take a break. I know this one is misspelled, but I can't fit one
more letter into the box, so I dropped the letter least likely to
be noticed :)
Cautiously Daring
I enjoy taking some types of risks. For example, I ride my
motorcycle,
I've
sky dived,
and I've
fought in
a
kung fu
competition.
But in most things I'm pretty
cautious. I have no examples of this.
Sorry.
Shyly Outgoing
I'm
shy. I try to be
outgoing though.
One time I spent 45 minutes searching a grocery store for whipped
cream before finally giving up and asking someone. Who would think
frozen foods for whipped cream? It's supposed to be in the
refrigerator, not the freezer! I'm not sure how that story supports
this adjective, but I felt like including it.
Unrelated note - I thought I'd be cool by putting style
attributes on the html I was allowed to use in this section, but it
stripped all of it out. Oh well, guess my profile will just have to
look like everyone else's.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm trying to live it. Must not be doing a bad job either, just
checked and I still have a pulse! :)
Most of my live is taken up with 2 things - sleeping and working.
Sleeping accounts for about 33% (maybe a little more), and work
about 25%. That leaves me with 42% to account for. Well, it'd
probably be safe to say that 20% is spent transitioning between
those two states (ie, showering, driving, etc), so actually only
22% to account for.
Sometimes I try
running and
kung fu. I tend to
read quite a bit. I just started to
learn
Italian. I'm
traveling to
Italy in a week (by the time you read this I'll most likely already
be there or already have been and gone, 'cause it's not likely that
I'll update this again for a while).
I’m really good at
Everything. No really, I'm awesome. Ok, maybe if I've never done a
thing, I won't be very good at it, but if I want to be good at it
then I will be. So I guess there are some things that I'm not
"really good at", however, those things aren't very important (to
me anyway) so they have been implicitly excluded from "everything".
The first things people usually notice about me
Never really asked anybody, so I'm just kinda guessing here.
Probably that I'm pretty slender. Maybe that I have light brown
hair, or blue eyes. I don't have boobs (being a guy and all), so
I'm positive it's not that.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - The Eyes of the Dragon(Stephen King), The Sparrow(Mary
Russell), The Cookoos Egg(Cliff Stole), The DaVinci Code(Dan
Brown), almost anything by Dean Koontz, Robert Jordan, Terry
Goodkind, R.A. Salvadore, Terry Brooks.
Movies - The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Pirates of the
Carribean, The Young Master, The Legend of Drunken Master, Office
Space, Go.
Music - Fatboy Slim, Paul Oakenfold, NiN, Linkin Park, Avril
Lavigne, John Michael Montgomery, Black Eyed Peas.
Food - Lasagna, Manicotti, Chinese(not seafood though), Enchiladas,
almost anything spicy.
The six things I could never do without
Sometimes I think I'm pretty good at privation (didn't put it my
"good at" list, didn't really seem worth mentioning), so I don't
know that I've got six things that I could *never* do without
('cept the standard generic answers like air, water, food, etc). I
think I'll have to change this to six things that I don't like to
do without.
1) Cuddling 2) Something good to read 3) People to hang out with
(ie, Friends/Family) 4) Something new to learn 5) My motorcycle 6)
Some kind of test/puzzle.
Note - I numbered them but it's not an ordered list (except
cuddling probably does go at the top of the list...so it's an
ordered list of two things, but the second thing has five subthings
which are not ordered).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why the thought of talking to someone I don't know causes me so
much anxiety when actually talking to someone I don't know isn't
difficult at all. How this extends even to people I know.
On a typical Friday night I am
Quite often I'm just home reading. Occasionally hanging out at
someone's house with friends or having friends over to hang out.
Also occasionally at the bar or the movies or playing pool or
bowling or something. Currently I'm on a bowling league every other
Friday night, so 50% makes typical. So, there you have it: on a
typical Friday night I'm bowling...Unless it's the other week, then
I'm just about anywhere :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a teddy bear named Anne. That's pretty private, right? I'm
pretty open really, probably a better question would be what
private things wouldn't I be willing to admit here...but of course,
I can't very well answer that one here, now can I? :)
You should message me if
I think you should make your own decision on this. Be forewarned
however that I don't always respond. I'm much more likely to
respond if you have questions or at least a direction for a
conversational response.
NOTE - I'm in Italy on vacation, planning on keeping as great a
distance between me and computers as I possibly can for two weeks.
Feel free to message me if you want to, just don't expect a reply
before Jan 27 :)
