I am a dreamer, enthusiastic, and hopeful.

My Self-Summary

Hey, I'm Dante. I'm an English major from Vassar College looking for a new job. I graduated in May 2007, and focused in medieval literature. I also read lots of comics (and let's be honest, lots of books too) of as many genres as I can, which I suppose makes me an endearing geek. ;-) To add to my geekiness, I volunteer as an Assistant Scoutmaster at my brother's Boy Scout troop in town and I love hiking, camping and rollerblading.

What I’m doing with my life

-Paying off my student loans from Vassar
-Working tech support for a major cell phone company. It only kind of blows, unlike customer service, which just blows.
-Going back to school part-time for Library Science.
-Working part-time at Southern CT State University's library.
-Volunteering as Assistant Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 138-Naugatuck
-Being a ninja
-Patrolling the streets of Paragon City (bonus points if you know to what I am referring without Google-ing "Paragon City")

Wow. I suppose I'm sort of busy. Didn't really realize that til now.

I’m really good at

Being a (comic book) geek. Cuddling. Hugging. Listening. My job. Hating my dentist. Seeing the good in people. Being awesome. Playing padiddle.

The first things people usually notice about me

My hair. It's thick and everyone likes it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: What I'm reading now: Ms. Marvel, Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files series, Kim Harrison's The Hollows series (aka the Rachel Morgan series), X-Force, Green Lantern, struggling through The Chronicles of Narnia. Not struggling because it's difficult, but because it's boring as all hell. Yeah, I went there. I called The Chronicles of Narnia boring.

Favorites: The Count of Monte Cristo, Beowulf, The Wanderer, any X-Men comic, Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Fables, Neil Gaiman's Sandman, Sin City, V For Vendetta (yes, it was a book; don't even get me started on the movie), Watchmen, Empowered, anything by Brian K. Vaughan, Alan Moore, or Neil Gaiman, Paradise Lost, anything Tennyson, anything in an ancient Germanic language, Dante's Inferno, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Iron John: A Book About Men, Wicked, Frankenstein, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Mark Twain, the King Arthur myths, most Shakespeare, mostly Midsummer Night's Dream.

Movies: Iron Man, The Dark Knight, 300, The Dead Poets' Society, Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, all the X-Men movies, Spider-Man I & II (god, the 3rd one sucked ass), Hook, Sin City, Pan's Labyrinth, Mirrormask, Serenity, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Michael Bay's Transformers, the Indiana Jones trilogy (there is no fourth movie), all the classic Disney movies, The Departed, Coraline, anything by Quentin Tarantino

--Movies I Absolutely Hate: Mulholland Drive, Dune

--Movies I Hate More Than the Movies I Absolutely Hate: V For Vendetta, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Music: always shifting.

-General mainstays: Billy Joel, Toby Keith, Blink-182, alternative and punk rock, country.

-Currently listening to: Rise Against, Colbie Caillat, whatever else is on Rock Band 2

Food: Chinese and/or Italian. I still maintain that a Chicken Lo Mein pizza would be the best idea EVER.

TV: Firefly, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Justice League, Alias (before it caught the stupid), X-Men: Evolution, Heroes, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse, Castle

The six things I could never do without

Something to read, the internet, my siblings, TV on DVD, something to do, my dog.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Comics, the things I've read, the economy (who isn't?), stories I want to read, life, the universe and everything.

On a typical Friday night I am

Video games with the dudes from work.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a crush on Sonia Baghdady, the anchorwoman from "Good Morning Connecticut."
