I am sharp, witty, and pretty.
My Self-Summary
i like living an unstable life -- not knowing where i'll be living
in 6 months' time, nor where i'll be working, nor who my friends
will be, nor what whims and flights of fancy will be carrying me
from day to day. adventure and chaos of any shape and size give me
a lot of pleasure. there's something beautiful in just not knowing
what to expect; it makes every day all the more fresh and
exciting.
i can be selfless and i can be heartless, sometimes simultaneously.
i'm not claiming to be some complex sonofab or anything, i'm just
saying that i tend to express myself and my feelings in
unconventional ways.
i gots layers like a jawbreaker.
i like to revise my entire okc profile every few months; my
self-descriptions here become out of date and inaccurate very
frequently.
What I’m doing with my life
lost my job in early october, and since then i've been doing some
soul searching. [i haven't found it yet!]
i write short stories and make sweet, sweet music.
i may go back to school to study english or music. it's basically a
fallback if i find that i can't hold down a tolerable job and/or am
financially/realistically precluded from doing my 'planned'
travel-all-over-the-fuck-place trip.
I’m really good at
knowing a little about a lot, knowing a lot about little.
i'm good at surprising people in ways both good and not-so. my
personality morphs dramatically depending on the situation.
snappy comebacks, filling up notebooks, scathing sarcasm, music
recommendations, word games.
and baking cookies
The first things people usually notice about me
like i said, depends on the sitchy. i can be the person walking
down the street with my friends who makes passers-by glance and
smirk at my witty banter, or i can be the person in the background
just quietly taking in the scene.
cig in hand [tryin' to quit that shit by halloween, though].
loudass music coming out of my headphones.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
BOOKS:
the
stranger,
1984,
the
elegant universe,
the golden compass trilogy
[shit yeah],
the sun also rises. and
anything david sedaris, fer sure.
MOVIES:
happiness [if you've seen this movie
and you DIDN'T like it, we probably won't get along],
amelie [yep!],
science of
sleep,
my
life as a dog.
MUSIC: lately much animal collectiive, los campesinos!, bat for
lashes, lovely feathers, fleet foxes. but a relentlessly detailed
answer awaits you at http://www.last.fm/user/rickfactor.
FOOD: i don't know. anything i've never had before, i suppose. and
i might mean that in a fear factor kind of way.
TV [i don't watch it much these days, 'cept for these shows]:
wonder
showzen [RIP],
skins. pre-14th season simpsons are pretty
much comedy gold, too.
The six things I could never do without
some kind of musical instrument, some kind of portable music
player, lucid dreams, some kind of writing utensil, some kind of
paper, hipsterrunoff.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what makes you do what you do, paradoxes, the weight of first
impressions, the big bang, song lyrics, what-ifs, self-perceptions,
running for political office, all the standard metaphysical
dead-end questions.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
fly eyes scare me.
also, i've been known to bring the mutha fuckin ruckus
You should message me if
- the idea of packing a bag, hopping in your car, and driving off
to no place in particular for good sounds reasonable to you.
- you like to talk music and go to shows.
- you write stories or write music and want to
share/collaborate/amaze.
- you're a budding artist of any sort.
- you like late-night semi-philosophical chats.
- you like meaningless, shooting-the-shit chats with strangers and
mild acquaintances.
- the ideas of working a 9-5 job, buying fancy things to be happy,
and 'settling down' are not among your primary goals for the next
15 years.
- you'd just like to talk.
