I am swashbuckling, photographic, and clever.
My Self-Summary
I’m a big old
geek.
I’m tall,
tattooed,
and
fat, and I’m as
okay with one as I am the others. I’ve been happily married to
lady_bug69 for 10
years now. We have an
open marriage, sort of halfway
between
polyamory and swinging. (We don’t
date, we just have some good friends we sometimes sleep
with.)
I adore
books and
reading. I’m
especially fond of
science fiction,
fantasy,
horror and other
weird fiction. I’m also
really in to
crime writing and
historical fiction. My
geekiness for
books is also evident in my love of
movies and
TV, where my tastes are about the same.
I'm a roleplayer as well, I've been playing
tabletop RPGs since I was 12, and
though I don't have a group to play with now, that's the only thing
stopping me from rolling some
dice regularly at 33.
I’m also a
nerd about
cocktails and
photography.
We host monthly
cocktail parties where I get to
ply my
mixology
skills for my friends and we can all get a little tipsy and talk
nerdy to each other. I’ve really slacked off on the photography but
when I do shoot, I love
urban scenes,
portraits, and
nudes.
Politically I’m pretty
liberal, especially socially. I’m really
passionate about
feminism and
LGBT rights. I’m a proud member of
secular America,
oppose capital punishment, and am in favor of decriminalizing every
drug you ever heard of. (Despite the fact that I really only enjoy
tobacco and
alcohol.)
What I’m doing with my life
We just moved to
Oakland from
Sacramento, and really love the
Bay Area. I’ve
got a 9-5 job, but I’m looking for something I can be more excited
about (and with a better salary and benefits). After I get the job
thing tackled It’ll be back to school to finish a Bachelor’s in
History, then to Grad school to be a
librarian.
We’re also getting back into the swing of things with our monthly
cocktail parties. Those and a night out for cocktails are the main
social events we’re up for right about now. That may change for the
right friends, though.

The six things I could never do without
Are we allowed to assume I have food, shelter, and my wife? In that
case it's: books, my DVR, my iPod, gin, smart friends, and
reasonable discourse.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Drink recipes, my friends, how much better the world would be
without irrational faith, and like everyone else on the planet,
sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
On Friday nights I'm almost always home with my wife. If you want
to know what I like to do for fun on weekends, it's usually on
Saturdays. I love my monthly cocktail parties, and I also aim to
get out from drinks and comraderie more often.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
It would either be that my wife and I are total slobs at home, or
that I've never had a driver's license. You get two for one here.
You should message me if
I want to hear from you if you read my profile and think I'd make a
cool friend. I'm even okay if part of that reason is a chance to
get free booze at my parties.
