My Self-Summary

I'm returning to New York City after a three-year affair with law school. I tend to make outrageous claims but say them in a deadpan way so people think I serious and often run away from me. But those who don't flee tend to become good friends of mine.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a former elementary school teacher/ aspiring writer / Lawyer. I like ice cream. Especially chocolate.

I’m really good at

1) Being immune to all bug bites, mosquitos, etc. 2) Finding ways to procrastinate. 3) Reading long books and writing long papers about them in very short periods of time. 4) Being oblivious to the fact that #3 was a byproduct of #2. 5) Picking up people taller than myself and running with them down hallways whilst they are precariously dangling over my shoulder. 6) Editing my friends' research papers so that they will end up with a higher grade than me. 7) Sharing my life in list form.

The first things people usually notice about me

People notice the back of my head as I'm running away and usually scream utterances at me such as "Come back with my wallet!"

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(a) I like books by David Sedaris, Asimov, Zadie Smith. But really anything. It takes me a while to start a book, and a while to end a book. But I read the middle quickly. It takes me a day or two to get into it. Then I get excited and read through it quickly or stay up all night reading. Then I get near the end and I get sad my adventure is over so I slow down. This paragraph may or may not be TMI.
(b) I like movies by Tarantino, Kurosawa, Kubrick, Woody Allen because they are great storytellers and creators.
(c) Mostly old school things. A small sampling from oldest to newest: Mozart, Gershwin, Beatles, CCR, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bon Iver, Avett Brothers
(d) Chocolate

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I may or may not have a "Dr. Horrible" costume that I may or may not wear for special events like Halloween, costume contests, and weddings.
