I am casual, reasonably bright, and good-humored :-).
My Self-Summary
Hi!
I'm at UCSD, employed in computer-based scientific research
(ocean-atmosphere satellite remote-sensing), and am having fun
taking rec classes here (e.g.,
gymnastics,
trampoline,
yoga, pilates, & dance). My favorite
types of yoga so far are Hatha, Kundalini and Tantric.
I'm looking around for social opportunities. In the past I've gone
to
DanceJam,
drum circles,
raves, and
tantra
gatherings. I joined
Mensa to check out that scene, and spend
most of my time there with the
SDYM group (San Diego Young Mensans).
I have many interests, too many to list really, and of course
this means that I'm more of a dilettante than an expert or
specialist :-). Aside from what I mention above and below,
I'm interested in:
life extension,
general semantics,
systems
theory,
science,
math,
space travel,
nature,
inventions,
deep relaxation,
floatation
tanks,
mind
machines,
higher intelligence,
virtual
reality,
Anthony Robbins materials,
individual freedom,
brain
science,
smart
drugs or
nootropics,
futurism,
extropy,
NVC or
non-violent
communication or
"win/win conflict resolution through needs analysis", and
more.
Some of the things that I'm not very into includes most
politics,
most conventional religions, bars and/or getting drunk,
smoking,
motorcycles, initiatory violence, most conventional sports,
pursuing money at all costs, worrying about "terrorists" or
"illegal immigrants", etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Oh, working, taking care of myself, feeding my mind almost
constantly via the internet, waiting for the housing market to
bottom out so I can finally buy a house of my own, speaking up now
and then about wrongs I see occurring in this world, etc.
I’m really good at
- listening empathically, being a good sounding board
- giving good amateur deep-release massages
- finding humor in situations
- finding and putting together good information from a variety of
sources
The first things people usually notice about me
my smile and energy, maybe my hair and clothes (depends on who is
doing the noticing)

The six things I could never do without
music, naps, exercise/activity of some kind, sexual pleasure,
zone-balanced meals, the beauty of nature :-)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
damn near everything :-) I usually try to occupy my mind with
thoughts about great possibilities in life, the future, interesting
things I just learned about, etc., though sometimes I dwell on the
limitations in my life, try to see if I can figure out ways to get
past them, then usually jump off again into more pleasant fantasies
and humor :-)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Heh, if you want to know my private things, you'll have to get to
know me first ;-)
You should message me if
you see a few things here that interest you.
