My Self-Summary

"Bleeding heart liberal" would be a good way to describe me, and I don't consider that an insult. I'm very caring and open to different people and ideas, but passionate (sometimes stubborn) about my own. I love reading and learning new things, and figuring out how things work. I'm artistic and musical when I get the motivation, which isn't often enough. I play a little piano/keyboard and do some drawing and computer art. As for causes, I'm a non-man-hating feminist and strongly believe in animal rights, gay rights, and the individual right to choose (whether it comes to abortion, drugs, or most other things). I'm an atheist who likes talking religion with non-fanatics who don't judge. As caring and sweet as I can be, I'm also very sarcastic and can joke around about almost anything. I adore video games, music, food, and sex (sometimes all at once). I'm a huge nerd.

What I’m doing with my life

Being pretty lost and confused, that's what. I dabbled in college, working towards a vet tech, game design, and graphic arts degree. I've volunteered and worked at animal shelters, a pet store, and as a computer tech, and right now I'm unemployed because I suck. My goal is to find a job soon and save up to move in with my boyfriend and eventually go back to college.

My dream job would be either owning my own animal shelter or farm, or working for a game company like Square-Enix.

I’m really good at

Um. Honestly I'm not trying to be modest, I just have a hard time realizing what I'm "really good" at. I'm good at thinking, logic, puzzles, math, that sort of thing. I'm great with spelling, grammar and reading...and all of this is just giving me more nerd points, isn't it. Writing, too, I guess, though you wouldn't know it from here. I'm a pretty good artist when I try, especially on the computer. I can sing, just not in front of anyone. I'm also a good judge of character, and excellent at overusing the word "I'm".

I'm also told I'm good at a few things that would probably be inappropriate to list here.

The first things people usually notice about me

When it comes to looks... Maybe my hair, when it's dyed an interesting color. People also comment on my piercings (4 in each ear), but they aren't that interesting or unique compared to others. Sometimes I wear crazy boots or skirts that get some attention.

When it comes to personality, probably that I laugh a lot. When meeting new guys I also get the whole "OMG you're a girl and you play video games and know computers NO WAY" thing, but I hate that, even when it's complimentary. (Guys, it's nothing special. Lots of girls are like that these days.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Princess Bride, Harry Potter, To Kill a Mockingbird, Carrie (and others by Stephen King), The Lottery: And Other Stories (and others by Shirley Jackson), Lolita, most things by Roald Dahl, Fahrenheit 451, The Vagina Monologues, Invisible Monsters, etc.

Movies: The Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, Pan's Labyrinth, Ichi the Killer, Haute Tension/High Tension (and many other horror movies), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem For a Dream, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Star Wars, Stand and Deliver, The Lion King, Stranger Than Fiction, Borat, etc.

Music: I listen to a lot of Japanese music so I'll separate this: Japanese: GLAY, Janne da Arc, Dir en grey, L'Arc~en~Ciel, X JAPAN, Malice Mizer, La'Cryma Christi, Raphael, The Black Mages, and the game composers... Yasunori Mitsuda, Nobuo Uematsu, Hitoshi Sakimoto Other: The Offspring, My Chemical Romance, Metallica, The Doors, Boston, Avenged Sevenfold, Sonata Arctica, Dimmu Borgir, ELO, Inkubus Sukkubus, Secret Sphere, System of a Down, No Doubt before "Return of Saturn", Cream, Eric Clapton, 3 Doors Down, Simon and Garfunkel, tons of other stuff.

Food: Chinese, Thai (not too spicy), pizza, sandwiches, pretty much everything else. Does Jager count?

I'm going to copy my friend and include TV too, even though I don't watch much anymore: Golden Girls, Roseanne, The Daily Show, Family Guy, Futurama, Arthur, King of Queens, Frasier, Hikaru No Go, Haibane Renmei

The six things I could never do without

Narrowing this down was hard. :(

1) Music 2) My computer 3) Food (and I don't mean in a survival way...it would just suck to be without all the awesome choices for food out there) 4) People to talk to who share my interests and views 5) Lots of clothes (I love fashion, just not the typical trendy stuff) 6) Something to laugh at

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Worries like when am I going to get a job, do I have enough money, do people like me, am I pretty enough, etc. Also worries outside of myself, like the issues and causes I listed above, will men and women ever stop acting like enemies, will people ever stop being asses, what can be done about our government, racism, etc.

My boyfriend, whether it's how much I love him, how damn annoying he is, how good the sex last night was, whatever. Plenty of other things people would probably consider "shallow," too.

I also love contemplating things I'll never know the answers to. Like how was the universe formed, is any religion right about anything (if so, which ones), what is "nothingness" like, where did our concept of beauty really come from, what do animals think, etc.

I have to cut myself off here because I think way too much; it's my curse and it keeps me up at night, and these lists could get huge.

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually with my boyfriend and/or his friends, as most of mine aren't local anymore. Driving around, hanging out at someone's house, at a bar/show, seeing a movie, whatever. If not, you can find me sitting at home playing a game, on the internet, or playing with my cat.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like little girls.

Kidding. Um, I never shave my legs unless I'm in a relationship or think I'm going to have sex. Good enough.
