My Self-Summary
TLHE is sarcastic, overly self confident, and sometimes fond of the third person. She's just damn awesome. You only wish you could be as awesome as she is. She also uses a lot of British spelling for no reason what so ever. This adds to the common misconception that she's really not from around here...

I am forthcoming, eccentric, and maternal

I’m really good at
Tying my shoes. Making it all look easy. Saying exactly the wrong thing but doing everything in my power to make you feel better.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
As a rule I do not have favourites, just things I am fond of. So, as far as books are concerned, A Clockwork Orange is a book I rather enjoy, along with anything written by Douglas Adams. Or George Orwell. The Gormenghast trilogy is also somewhat entertaining. Besides science fiction and fantasy I read a lot of modern biography. Feminist literature has a soft spot in my heart. In general I read contemporary literature but as an English major my pallet is obviously varied.

I don't watch a lot of movies but whenever this question is asked I usually answer A Clockwork Orange, Harold and Maude, Princess Mononoke or Shaun of the Dead. Also, I enjoy bad movies with drag queens far too much. -Fun fact, I've never seen any of The Matrix movies. Stop quoting them at me.

I know TV shows weren't mentioned up there in the question, but I have a lot more to say on that subject. I constantly watch Futurama. Along the same vein, Family Guy is enjoyable, but nothing to write home about. King of the Hill is pretty good as well. I've probably seen more old Britcoms than you knew existed (with Blackadder getting plenty of time in the DVD player) and ashamedly, I'm fond of a bit of anime. (Oh Hellsing, Haibane Renmai, why must you mar my otherwise acceptable history with anime fanaticism?) I also watch South Park a lot as well. I don't have cable at my apartment so I watch things streaming online or at work... there I watch a lot of shitty VH1 reality shows and sports. Hmm.

My musical tastes are more varied than the selection at a brothel in Amsterdam, but my iPod seems to be filled with a lot of XTC and VNV Nation. Bring on the three letter bands! (That is before the coming of Zappa, which has doubled the used space on my iPod. Gasp!)

Wrapping it up, I like food. Whatever. Most anything but fish or other seafood bits. Also tomatoes. So yeah, I don't do Cajun much. I like Cajun seasoning though!

The six things I could never do without
This is very hard, as I'm either not that passionate about any six things, or a lot more than six things are important to me. So...

1) My family. I'm very close to them and don't expect that will ever change much.
2) My car. I need it to get to work and I need to go to work to stay alive. Also I love the UP but I need the ability to leave it at will. That being said...
3) Travel. Again, I love my homeland (read: the UP) but sometimes it's nice to get out in the world.
4) Complex carbohydrates. They are my downfall. No Atkins diet here.
5) My cellphone. I'm a text addict.
6) A good conditioner. I'd have no hair without one.

On a typical Friday night I am
Things, typically. During the school term I'll be at work from 3-11 and probably doing work from 9-12. I know, the overlap! And that's why I work afternoons. If miraculously I'm not working and I have no homework, I'm probably hanging out with my friends, possibly drinking heavily, possibly playing board games, possibly both.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Life is grand.

(Also, I'll tell you most anything if you ask and I like you well enough [read: don't detest you] but if it's that private you'll never know to ask anyway so... works.)
