I am stubborn, considerate, and rebellious.
My Self-Summary
I tend to catch a lot of fire for not conforming to what
established power expects. That is to say, I don't agree to do
things I don't believe are right just because it's demanded or
because other people do it. I catch a lot of flak because of it
though:

That kind of an attitude makes a tireless public
activist, trying to stand up for
what's right (and sit down for what's not). You'll always find me
investing time in some important project, like the Technion Grad
Student organization or getting new light fixtures installed for my
apartment building's staircase, or writing some guide or position
paper.

טוב, העיקר הוא באנגלית, אבל למי שיודע/ת עברית יש גם את זה:

What I’m doing with my life
I'm working on my Ph.D. in Theoretical
Computer Science at the
Technion.
I've also helped form a Teacher's union at the Technion, and I've
put together a mini-course on Junior Academic Staff
organization:

But now I've moved to a different public position, upholding
research assistant rights - which is in some ways more challenging,
since RAs are payed stipends, not a salary.
I'm also sort-of-the-head of the tenant committee in my apartment
building in Hadar neighborhood.
(I had a long trip across Europe in 2006:

I’m really good at
Oooh, lots of stuff:
- talking things out
- thinking things out
- getting people's computers to work
- tinkering with things around my apartment
- writing really nasty sarcastic criticism of stuff that nobody
bothers to read
- trying to grasp the deeper implications of things... and
sometimes even succeeding.
The first things people usually notice about me
My being a good listener and discussion partner. That, and my
tendency to politically-dramatize social situations in my close
environment (think: the epic saga of intra-faculty power
struggles).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
From Science Fiction and Fantasy literature (Le-Guin, Lord Dunsany,
Zelazny) to radical history and thought (Rocker, Chomsky, Knabb,
Bichler & Nitzan, Trotsky, Zinn and others). I also enjoy
Japanese animation and
Manga (when I can spare the time). My
taste in movies is also eclectic, and I'm probably the only person
I know who likes both Chocolat and Karaketer on one hand and Conan
the Barbarian on the other.
The six things I could never do without
- Radical activism and thought (I am an
Anarchist, after all)
- Having challenging projects to pursue
- The sense of being part of a group, a class, an
organization
- The comfort of a close interpersonal relationship, familiarity
and intimacy. I can't do without it, yet I don't have it! A
conundrum!
And I'm keeping the rest open for now :-P
You should message me if
You're someone I might think highly of. And You want a relationship
with someone you don't have to talk down to. Or you're into
activis(m|sts). Aw, I dunno. I've been on more than few dates which
made feel "wow, totally vacuous person".
