I am easy going, happy, and understanding.

My Self-Summary

Hey, I'm Danny. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish. (Can you buy me for a higher price now? Hahaha...) I study foreign languages as a hobby. I'm very out-going and easy to please. I love anything having to do with international affairs and foreign culture. I love to travel: have been to England, Canada, and lived in Mexico for a year in college, and looking forward to lots more locations. I also sing a lot and go to karaoke now and then. I'm probably wholesome to a fault, but I tend to be liberally-minded. I'm all about being free with your feelings and emotions, getting in touch with nature, and being pathetically romantic. I'm not desperate for another person to make me whole, but it's always good to hang out with people and see where it goes. I recently got into wheelchair sports, joined a sled hockey team, and tried water skiing for the first time. Oh, and I really like who I am.

What I’m doing with my life

Living in the Burlington area and hoping to meet some worthwhile people. I'm generally annoyingly optimistic... except when I'm not, but then I classify my pessimism as realism. It's all relative. I'm high-energy and a fairly busy person, trying to find meaning and purpose in this life I see as what can only be a circus. I can currently speak, with moderate to full fluency, Italian, Portuguese, French, Spanish, German, English, and Sign Language. I read a lot and go to the gym about five days a week. I love to experiment with my cooking, and one of my mottos in life is that I'll try anything twice. I'm the oldest of eight kids, some of whom I actually miss now that I no longer live with them. I'm passionate about world issues, cultures, and languages. I could talk about them all day, and will eventually go back and get a Master's degree in some related field. I also sing... pretty much all the time, as anybody who has ever met me could tell you. Currently, I work when I have to, play when I can, and sleep when I must. I plan on doing a ton of traveling before I die and never giving up who I am. I quote my grandmother daily and want to live forever without aging. So far, so good! I really love helping people out, especially when they need it. I think most people look like some celebrity, and I don't hesitate to tell them so. Yes, it gets me in trouble, but what doesn't these days? I'm very nice and approachable, so don't be afraid to give me a shout!

I’m really good at

Wheelchair sports, singing, learning foreign languages, empathy, good conversation, listening, and baking things to the bottom of the pan.

The first things people usually notice about me

I am very secure about who I am. Again and again I hear that I'm one of the most self-aware people someone has ever met. Now I just keep sitting here, asking myself why that is...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(a)The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand, Burning Marguerite - Elizabeth Inness-Brown, The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkein, Blindness - Jose Saramago, Introduction to Spiritual Harmony - Jerry Stocking (b)The Color Purple, Moulin Rouge, Ciudade de Deus [City of God], Y Tu Mama Tambien [And Your Mom Too] (c)John Mayer, Alanis Morrissette, Black Eyed Peas, Dixie Chicks, James Taylor (d)Mexican, French, Korean, Chinese (pretty much any international cuisine, so long as it's authentic)

The six things I could never do without

Music, My Personal History, Logic, Cool Summer Breezes, Nice People, Hope

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The bigger questions: my place in the world/universe; my "career" path; morality (whether or not it exists); mortality (whether or not I exist); and why I have enough time to write this down, but not enough time to practice my guitar.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging with friends, staring at the sky, or looking for a way out of my designated living space of four white walls.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not a big fan of people in animal costumes. I am terrified I'll get Alzheimer's disease one day, though I have no reason to think I will. I cry when I see footage of civil rights violations. I'm terrified of june bugs. I'm a big flirt without realizing it. I confess way too much info to complete strangers. I love cheese to a point where I think it might be a problem, haha.

You should message me if

You're smart, confident, emotionally independent, and like good conversation. Big plus if you are into foreign languages, cultures, affairs, world geography, have ambitions, are trying to find yourself in some manner... or like the Dixie Chicks.
