I am Fun, Intelligent, and INFP.
My Self-Summary
Ok - before you IM me looking for a date, please read my whole
profile. I am seeing someone and really am only looking for
friends. A big hint to that is the bottom of the screen
I'm a child-at-heart who loves
children. I love
reading, especially
Dean Koontz,
movies - but not sappy movies,
computers and
vegetarian
food. I am a
vegetarian with a passion for the
environment
and
animals. I
enjoy a good debate with an educated person and am very
competitive. I enjoy competing against myself and seeing what I can
improve. I am not athletic and really have a disdain for sports and
beauty pageants.
I am actually pretty geeky for a girl and value intelligence
greatly in friends and mates. I am a code monkey by profession,
which started as a hobby.
Compared to other girls my age:
I am Less Aggressive. I prefer the fiddle to the drum, as Joni
Mitchell might say. You can often find them stepping between two
more aggressive specimens, crying "hey, guys, we can settle this in
a way that lets everyone keep their teeth!"
I am More Compassionate Much like nurses, the unheralded heroes of
our modern hospital system, compassionate women are filled with
caring for all living things. Unlike nurses, I probably won't jam
pointy things into you or demand to know your weight every time I
see you.
More Dorky Dork. Geek. Nerd. Not quite the same thing (as the
popular test shows), but close enough for this badge. I am, well,
dorky, and most of them are proud of it! Admit it: there's a little
dork in everyone, even you!
More Mathematically Inclined You know how some people take twenty
minutes puzzling over the tip on their restaurant bill, and other
people can tell you with a glance not only what it should be, but
exactly how much everyone owes? I am one of those latter
people.
More Lawful I believe in the law, and do my best to follow it as
often and as to-the-letter as they can. I've never even had a
traffic ticket ;) However, don't get the idea that I am a
goody-two-shoes, cuz I am not.
More Literary More apt to quote from a novel than a television
show, happier curling up with a good book than hitting a dance
club, I am a devoted students of the printed word. I read a lot,
and sometimes dabble in writing.
More Desiring of Love Some people want a friend, some people want
sex ... I want a soul mate. I want to be in love, to feel that deep
connection with a person, to share myself completely.
More Optimistic "Don't worry," I might say to you. "Sure, your
house burned down, your dog ran off, your wife left you for the
post-man, and you're being audited by the IRS, but at least you've
got your health!"
More Spiritual Spirituality is not the same thing as religion. I am
religious, but not overly so. I like to consider myself in touch
with the non-physical world.
More Political I lean to the liberal side AND am a bit
conservative. I define myself as a democrat for lack of a better
available political affiliation. I care deeply about politics. I am
pro-military, but anti-Iraqi war.
What I’m doing with my life
I have been dubbed a
geekette by the biggest
geek I know and I take that as
a real compliment. I am a
web designer. I am constantly
learning
something new. My New Year's resolution every year is is to learn
at least ONE new thing that year - or try something I have never
tried before. Since I already speak some French and some
Spanish, I have decided
that those will be the next two languages I learn. Following that,
I will try to learn Farsi - which will be a stretch - but fun. I am
also a
vegetarian and that is important to
me - as well as
community involvement
and
environmental awareness.
I would also like to take some
dance lessons,
photography classes or some
programming
classes.
I’m really good at
computers,
reading,
learning,
photography and
having fun. I am easy
going and pretty good at getting to know other people pretty
quickly. I am a fast thinker, too. I am very
compassionate and passionate about
the things I care about.
I am also good at relationships. I don't like to surround myself
with loads of people, but I maintain good relationships with the
few people I choose to get close with.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm petite, only 4'10, and have been mistaken for a child on
occasion. I am almost laughing and having a good time. I speak with
a slightly southern drawl but am intelligent and have none of the
prejudices so common among southerners.
I am also a bit of a klutz. I love to dance, but watch your toes.
LOL. I have really learned to laugh at myself a lot since grace is
not one of my natural abilities.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love
Dean
Koontz, but my favorite book (currently) is
Kite Runner. My favorite
older book series is
The Lord of the Rings. I
also thoroughly enjoyed
the Hobbit. My favorite authors are
Tolkien,
Ayn Rand,
Peter Straub, and
John Grisham among
others. I also like poetry.
I love
music of all
kinds and am just as cozy at a
Broadway show as I am at a
square dance.
I love
classical music,
Rock,
Country,
Blues,
Reggae and
world music - LOL - Did I leave
anything out??
I thoroughly enjoy
movies of almost any kind. I am not into
blood and gore, but I love
Sci-Fi,
thrillers,
mysteries,
suspense,
comedies and
kid's movies. I loved
LOTR,
1408,
Ratatouille,
the Noteook and
Pirates of the
Caribbean. I am a huge
Johnny Depp fan, but I also like
Robin
Williams quite a bit. My favorite director is
Spielburg. I loved the
Star Trek movies and will
occasionally rent them all just to have a start trek marathon and
try to figure out who is sexier - Kirk or Picard; or smarter - Data
or Spock. I also liked
Star Wars and
Firefly (we were so cheated when that
was cancelled). I am not much into TV and I don't have the
Sci-Fi channel,
but if I did, that would probably be the main channel that I
watched - although, I also like medical dramas/comedies such as
House or
Grey's Anatomy or
legal shows, such as
Shark.
I am a food fanatic. I am not overweight - but I love food. I am a
vegetarian but
not a vegan. I love
exotic foods and am willing to try
anything once. I am definitely not your meat and potatoes type of
girl. I adore
Moroccan food,
Asian food and
East Indian Food.
The six things I could never do without
I could never do without my kids. I was on a wild track before they
came along and, as many people will vouch, having children settles
you a bit. Not that there is anything wrong with being wild - but
there is such a thing as being too wild. Additionally, my kids have
brought me so much joy and showed me the true meaning of selfless
devotion.
I couldn't go without my family. I am very close to almost all of
my family. They are very important to me. I frequently forget
birthdays, but they are still important to me. They are like my
lighthouse. When I feel that I am lost, they are a stabilizing
force. I can usually trust in their direction.
Security is also important to me. I don't mean financial security.
I am independent enough to take care of myself and my family. I
like security in a relationship. I am not the jealous type, but I
like to know that the person I am with wants to be with me and that
I am the only person they want to be with. I am also not clingy -
but I like to be secure in the fact that I am loved.
Love - I don't think most people truly understand its meaning. I am
not going to sit her and claim that I know all about love. I am not
that arrogant. However, when I think of love, people like Mother
Teresa and Ghandi come to mind more than a heart throb. To me, love
is about giving of yourself to someone else. Love really can change
the world. If you love your neighbor as yourself, you will do
things for them to help improve their life. If we really cared
about those around us, cures for disease, remedies for poverty and
answers to starvation would be much more important to us.
Ideals - I am very idealistic. I don't think it is possible to
achieve an absolute ideal, but I don't believe it makes it any less
worthwhile to try. No one is perfect and perfection is
unobtainable. In the meantime, I will try to achieve the impossible
and enjoy the flaws and quirks of my fellow travelers through
humanity.
and God. I am not overly religious - but it is important to me that
the person I am involved with have a belief in God. I, myself, have
studied Wiccan, Christianity and am currently reading the Quran. I
consider myself to be a Christian - but feel you can only make that
decision if you are properly educated. Maybe this answer should be
changed to faith. I am a firm believer that if you don't stand for
something, you will fall for anything. It is a great, old adage. I
believe that if we are always looking for the worst, we will find
it. It's there. I've seen my share of bad in this world. However, I
have learned - that if we have faith in those we trust and care
about, you may eventually be let down - but the journey is not so
hard - because instead of having faith that evil reigns, you have
faith that there is good in everything - and you will find it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my kids. I am not a worry wart, but want to make sure they grow up
in a safe, loving environment. I want to make sure the Earth is
still an inhabitable planet by the time they have their grandkids.
I also think about books that I am reading and how I can improve
myself to make me the best me that I can be.
I also spend a lot of time thinking about education - and what we
can do to improve it for the current and next generation. I support
our teachers - and my hat goes off to you. I believe, however, that
our teachers should be better educated than many of them are. I
believe that we should hold them to higher standards - after all,
they spend as much (or sadly, more) time with our children than we
do.
On a typical Friday night I am
probably out at the movies, but I am quiet and also enjoy cuddling
on the couch. It doesn't bother me to stay in on weekends at all. I
am not a big party person - not to say that I don't like a good
party - but that's not my preferred style of relaxation.
I may also be at the Comedy Warehouse at Downtown Disney. That's
one of my favorite places to go and the comedians all know me by
name. It's not stand-up comedy - it's improvisational and involves
the audience in a big way. I love things that involve the
audience.
I also like to dance, but rarely actually go out dancing. Unless
I've a few drinks all the noise in loud dance clubs really gets to
me eventually. I'm no Ginger Rogers, but I'm not bad either.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am shy. Most people never really know that about me because I am
a chameleon. I can blend into any background, but I really do need
my down time.
I love to be different. I love being called a geekette and I like
to stand out in my uniqueness. I know that seems to clash with the
shy part - but that just shows you how complex I can really be.
You should message me if
you can tell me what this means - ,^5 <^1 9^2 ,^1 6^2 @^1 - if
you know what that says, I am interested in some romance and maybe
more. Basically, if you are geeky enough to invent the logical
cypher for this code - you will have my undivided attention
:D
Otherwise, I really am looking just for friends online. I really am
not looking for lovers - sorry guys.
