I am rational, libidinal, and perspicacious.
My Self-Summary
Rational, objective, and thoughtful. I am a scientist by
temperament, but perhaps ought not to be one by trade. I like to
thoroughly consider something you've said, and then bring it up
10-30 minutes later when you've completely forgotten. I appreciate
variety, and I'm extremely saddened by the fact that one person
can't experience every facet of life.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm doing cancer research at the local children's hospital. I just
recently broke down and started studying for the MCAT, but I
simultaneously decided to devote a lot more time to cooking and
having dinner parties.
I’m really good at
Fixing things, cooking, making coffee, driving/riding, observing.
Advice. Sleeping, sprawling, and various other activities typically
done in bed. I'm really good at most things-- just ask.
The first things people usually notice about me
Recently, probably my disheveled, curly hair. If they look closely,
they might ask if my conch piercing hurt (not too much, actually
felt kind of good). If I'm riding my motorcycle or Vespa, that.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(a) Oryx and Crake, Good Omens, The Day of the Jackal, Kalki,
Unnatural Death: Confessions of a Medical Examiner, Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern are Dead, Michel Houellebecq, In Cold Blood, A
Clockwork Orange, Harry Fucking Potter. I also like skimming
Nature, Science, and Cell to see what we think we've figured out
now. The latter give the impression that I'm working even though
the majority of my tabs are anything but work-related.
(b) Dr. Strangelove, Secretary, La Haine, The Professional, Pulp
Fiction, 2046, and the Sherlock Holmes TV movies with Jeremy Brett.
As for TV, I enjoy QI, Doctor Who, Black Books, The IT Crowd, and
Battlestar Galactica.
(c) I'm very fond of Blur, Depeche Mode, Stephane Grappelli,
Hybrid, Ladytron, Jim Noir, Thelonious Monk, Morrissey, Charlie
Parker, Plaid, and Royksopp. Check
this for more
details.
(d) Good bun is amazing. If you're confused, that is a delicious
Vietnamese dish. On that note, I also have frequent cravings for
Vietnamese sandwiches and pho. I lived in Taiwan for four months,
and dumplings and potstickers have been favorites ever since. I
also highly recommend my stuffed pork chops. And since I live in
LA, I feel obligated to love Thai curry.
The six things I could never do without
Six is so arbitrary. One thing that really makes me happy is when
an NPR show is so good that it compels me to stay in my parked car
to finish listening to it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sex. Dying. What's going on in that head of yours. The world of
tomorrow. Whether Sherlock Holmes was good in bed.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably either getting mildly snockered with friends or gaming.
These two activities often commingle.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a latent preference for women with long noses. And probably
gingers.
You should message me if
If you got to here, you'd better already have a reason.
I really am looking to meet more people in LA. Especially around
Highland Park/Eagle Rock/Pasadena or Silverlake/Echo Park/Los
Feliz. General awesomeness and an affinity for video games and/or
good food are pluses.
