I am touch-oriented, interrogative, and now without hair!.

My Self-Summary

I'm an imagination-driven man on a mission to explore life. I dabble in writing sci-fi and fantasy. I also have a passion for games of all kinds.

I've been married to polyfulcrum since 1995 and in 2002 we decided to open our marriage. As of 2006, I self-identify as a polyamorous person. My wife and I met when we were both attending school to become massage therapists.

(8/30/09 Update): After an intense summer and for a variety of reasons, my wife and I are currently separated. She remains a very important part of my daily life, but we have personal issues that need to be resolved and that requires some relationship distance.

Personal Keywords: Bald-headed, Mostly Irish, Open Marriage, Open Relationship, Poly, Polyamory, Geek, Nerd, Gamer, RPG, CCG, Texas Hold'em

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a professional computer geek! I am Tier 2 hardware support on a helpdesk for a Fortune 500 company.

I'm also very busy focusing on the needs of various people in my life. This allows me to procrastinate on writing projects (and less desirable projects) with great vigor!

My wife, her boyfriend and I have just all moved into a brand new house together as of August 2008! If you're curious about that, we have a blog that we all contribute to:
http://polytripod.blogspot.com/

In that new house, I am trying to experiment with gardening. Since I started this project in the fall, all I've planted in the planter boxes are two varieties of lettuce, peas and "walking onions." Thankfully the weather has been both wet and somewhat mild this fall. I can see sproutlings everywhere!

As of mid-October 2008, we also now have puppies! So great to have dogly energy in our lives again. We decided to go from zero to two dogs all at once. When we got them, they were only six weeks old. Having two of them seems to have been a pretty good choice -- they don't whine at all during the night and generally keep each other company. They are both mixed heritage dogs that we got from ads placed on Craigslist. The bigger, light-colored dog is Bella and the smaller, black dog is Donna. (Hehehehe... couldn't resist the "Belladonna" word play.)

I’m really good at

I'm really good at meaningful/deep conversations, massage, snuggling, and writing short fiction. (Hoping to get more motivation and time for longer works of fiction.)

Communication and honesty are two of my biggest strengths.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm easy-going and engaged in getting to know you. Nearly every single woman I've known has complimented me on the way I hug.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books = Dragonlance, The Wheel of Time, Harry Potter, Anita Blake, Ethical Slut

Movies/TV = Red Dwarf, Star Wars, Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Stargate, Serenity, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, Lord of the Rings, Transformers, Incredibles

Music = Weird Al Yankovic, 80's/90's Pop/Rock and other misc. stuff

Food = Almost anything, but especially: mexican, italian chinese, thai, indian, sushi, bubble tea.

The six things I could never do without

Daughter, Wife, Massage/Touch, PC, iPod.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Women... Ummm... Yeah, women. :) sci-fi/fantasy projects. Philosophy. Politics. (Yes, I voted for Obama!)

I like word play. So, I'm usually thinking about how to connect various concepts during a conversation to make a pun. I usually try to go for the pun that blindsides everyone and leaves them groaning.

On a typical Friday night I am

Watching the kid...OR...going to a movie...OR...going dancing (my wife and I just learned some formal dances: Cha-cha, Tango, Salsa, and Merengue)...OR...playing a role-playing game (face-to-face with other people across a table with dice and everything!)

RPG Gaming Keywords: D&D, Star Frontiers, Gamma World, MechWarrior, Battletech, ShadowRun, Paranoia, Champions, BESM, TMNT, Robotech, Rifts.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Every man has his kryptonite. I am a massage slut!! Touch me with purpose and I will be in your thrall. :)

You should message me if

...you are close to Vancouver, WA and want to get to know a quality guy who enjoys being both serious and goofy in equal measure.

If you are a woman interested in a romantic connection, I find that my most successful relationships are within 10 years of my age. I'm willing to entertain connecting with women beyond that bracket, but a lot of other factors need to align to make me feel comfortable with that.

So don't be shy! Email me! If you're polyamorous or share any other interests with me, please strike up a conversation. :)
