Walther PP/PPK

-18 Anglo-American; 19 Automatic; -14 Powerful; 33 Modern and 21 Stylish.

Continental - Automatic - Compact - Modern - Stylish

Before it was James Bond's weapon of choice, the Walther PP/PPK was a standard sidearm of the German police force, including the Gestapo, and a common choice for staff or general officers who didn't want to carry a heavier combat officer's pistol.  The PP is the full-sized version, and stood for Polizei-Pistole, or 'police-pistol'.  The PPK, intended for plainclothes detectives and designed to fill the same niche the snubnose revolver would in America, stands for Polizei-Pistole Kriminallmodell, or 'police-pistol, criminal (detective) model'.  Adolf Hitler is said to have comitted suicide with a .32 Walther PPK.

Calibre: .32ACP, .380ACP

Magazine: PP: 8 rounds (.32) or 7 rounds (.380)

PPK: 7 rounds (.32) or 6 rounds (.380)

Introduced: 1929 (PP), 1931 (PPK)

The CZ vz. 27 (.32ACP, 8-round magazine, introduced 1927), noted for its elegant Art Deco styling, was also a widely-used police and concealed-carry pistol of Czech origin.  The Korovin TK (.25ACP, 8-round magazine, introduced 1926) was the first automatic pistol produced in the Soviet Union.  It was intended as a self-defense or sporting gun for high-ranking military officers and party officials, but was also widely used by the NKVD.
