Congratulations!  You are Meet John Doe!

You've got it all together: you're smart, sexy, and savvy, but in the end, you'll always fall for the man you love.  Sorry, are you a man?  Then you'll fall for the woman you love.  You are a fairly principaled person and don't like too much smut in your films.  Hmmm... maybe a good reason to start looking back through the classics...?

 

This is an interesting precursor to the Manchurian Candidate(1962)... it runs very much along the same lines, although I doubt that in this case that the author was on LSD.

How it works:

 

You are judged on four variables, or, sliding scales. These are sleazy/innocent, heartfelt/schmaltzy, slowpaced/exciting, and cold/romantic. Yeah, some of those aren't really antonyms. I did the best I could. :)

 

 

Sleazy/Innocent has to do with how much smut you like in your films. Okay, so these are old movies and a lot of them were filmed under the old Hollywood codes, so there's really not that much smut. It's really more an issue of lack of morality. Does it bother you that the hero goes around inciting violence and strangling women?

 

Heartfelt/Schmaltzy: What this really is is a measure of campiness. Well... a lot of the films of this era would be described as film noir, and when they don't age well, they become... schmaltzy. Does that tickle you? Some people have a thing for terrible movies, as long as it's the right kind of awful. You know who you are.

 

Slowpaced/Exciting: Hopefully this didn't come off as a judgment of character or anything. It's more an issue of whether you'd prefer, say, Die Hard, or Dr Zhivago.

 

Cold/Romantic: This measures the amount that you like romance in your movies, and to a much lesser extent, how nice you are as a person. Not really a very influential variable at all...
