Muggers are a very specific type of crook. Not my kind of thing, but they just don't find shoplifting enough of a challenge. Depraved muggers get their adrenaline rush from having power over someone else. Some use knives or guns, and some just jump people, but bottom line is they like to use force to get other people to give them their money.
My guess is you also love being dominant in bed. The last Depraved mugger I dated was. ;)
