The World Series of Love

Like a lot of other people, I have been to quite a few dating websites (OkCupid, plenty of fish, jdate). One day, my aunt and I had a conversation and she even wanted to sign me up for eHarmony, but I declined her offer, thinking "I can find a guy on my own without her help or anyone else's".

While searching for men on OkCupid one morning, I came across "his" profile and noticed that he was online at that very moment. So I read over his profile briefly, checked out his photos and decided to instant message him. We talked for a couple hours on OkCupid instant messenger and I decided to be very daring and give him my phone number to call me and carry our conversation even further. I was very honest with him right up front online and over the phone about myself (for some reason I just felt very comfortable).

We decided, right then and there while talking on the phone that we wanted to meet up with each other. That was the night of the first Philadelphia Phillies World Series game of the 2009 series. So we decided to meet up that evening at about 8 to watch the game together at a local restaurant/bar. I arrived at the bar a few minutes before 8 o'clock and saw him sitting at the bar facing the entrance right away. I walked over to him and introduced myself. Through the night, we shared tons of lifelong stories, laughs and the Phillies game.

To say the least, we won the first World Series Game.....lost the series, but I got a great man out of the deal. Thanks, OkCupid!
