Alicia and Chris

"A Sometimes love does take time, but sometimes, if you're lucky, it really takes no time at all."

I had just broken up with someone and was determined to get right back into the dating game to find my Mr. Right, so I reopened my OKCupid profile. I just had this feeling that the right guy was just around the corner, I just had to keep my eyes open!

Chris emailed me after reading one of my journal entries. We found we had a lot in common and had some nice conversations online and on the phone, but I went on three unsuccessful dates with some other (very nice) OKCupid members before he and I were finally able to work out a time and place that worked for both of us. We went swing dancing for our first date, and afterward went out for coffee and dessert. We had a great time, and the date ended with a lovely kiss. By the end of the second date we could not take our eyes (or lips) off of one another, and within only a few short weeks we realized we were deeply in love.

Three months later, at Christmas time, he asked my parents for their blessing, which they happily gave. We moved in together a week later, and were married in August. On our wedding night I surprised him with the news that we were going to have a baby, and he was ecstatic! We now have a cute dog, a beautiful apartment in a two-family house, and our baby boy is due in April. Sometimes love does take time, but sometimes, if you're lucky, it really takes no time at all.
