Mandy and Jeff
He stole my profile. The first paragraph of his self summary was exactly what I had written under "What I'm Doing With My Life." Obviously we had something in common, and the 80% match made it all the more worthwhile to explore. At first glance, he met all of the basic criteria for my perfect guy. Living locally and not with his parents. Tall with bright blue eyes. Graduating with his degree this spring. Has a car and no criminal record. The world's greatest uncle to 3 adorable munchkins who are his life. Oh, and he had a picture with a cat. I had just gotten a kitten so he got a few points for that. At the very least, it would give me something to talk about when I messaged him for the first time.
A few days went by, and I was caught up with life. I didn't neglect him on purpose. I signed back online and chatted with him again. We exchanged numbers, but I didn't think he would be the best thing that ever happened to me. Our first date was walking around a fall festival, then for drinks at his favorite bar that I had been dying to go to, and back to his place to watch a movie. No worries, it stayed PG. Well, maybe PG-13...
I thought of him as just another guy. I wasn't planning on falling in love. But I guess it was that ultimate moment of love finding me. He is hands down the sweetest person I have ever met. My family commented on how much I've smiled since we started dating. He makes me giggle over the silliest things. We have completely different tastes in music and in football, but it's a good compromise. Most recently, I ventured home with him to Maryland to meet his family and attend a wedding. Every moment was absolutely perfect. We concluded with a trip to Ocean City where he gave me a present on the beach. I'm wearing his class ring (so 1950s - I love it!) until we're ready for a different stone. I'm head over heels in love, and I've never been happier. <3
