Basic Knowledge of Linguistics Test

Hi! And welcome to my test. I'll be using all that fancy advanced okcupid logic and their sweet math skills to determine your knowledge of linguistics. Woo hoo! This will be a test on some of the more superficial elements of linguistics that (at least in my opinion) are more likely to be known by a lay person and that (also in my opinion) are perhaps the most useful or fun bits for non-linguists. In other words, this will not be a comprehensive test on the whole massive field of linguistics, but rather a test of the things one might expect to take away from an intro to linguistics course.

As with all the tests on this lovely site, pick the one which is closest to your view. You ought to know the drill by now if you're down to a delightfully nerdy linguistics test ;)

Also, there is an answer key with explanation at the end, should you care.
