• Man has passed a point in evolution in the industrialized countries of the world where survival is not an option any longer; it's mandatory. Creature comforts rule everyday life and people are out there trying to enact laws so that everyone has it easy. I have found that I feel disconnected from the world. I have evolved over the past few hundred million years to hunt, scavage, and generally be self-sufficient and I don't even need these skills. I did not evolve to watch cheap soap operas, or drive through McDonalds, or attend budget meetings. The modern governments of the world are ridiculous. They are completely unchecked and have given themselves power to do anything. We usually call this corruption, but we are used to the corruption surrounding us. Who stops them if they want to take your land? What if they want to ban what you can produce? Who stops them if they outlaw a lifesaving medicine? What about when they discriminate against a group? NO ONE can, and no one will as long as most people believe that the government is doing this all for our best. I certainly cannot convince them, and I probably cannot convince you (if you are still reading) because they turn me into a demon for questioning their judgement. People should have the right to do whatever they want with their lives as long as they don't harm others. I believe that I have no right to tell people what they have to do with their lives. It's too bad that no politician ever sees it my way. So with all of that in mind, I have realized a great dream for my life. I am going to obtain an unihabited island somehow. I will either purchase it with a group of people helping me, or I will find one that no one cares about. The plan is to live on this island. This is not "live on a hot, exotic island for a short while with cameras following us around and be extra dramatic for network television." This is survival. The ultimate goal is survival and building of a community based on a few simple rules like no killing (unless involved parties consent), no violence (unless involved parties consent), and no theft. The island will be divided into parcels for each person with a large amount of land left for future growth and exploration. This will not just be a new endeavor, but a new culture. I am looking for about 50 people to do this with. I'll be honest here. I don't have the money or I am in the right situation for this at this time, but this is a goal that I hope to achieve at some point in the next 5 years. It's easy to dream, but doing is another thing. So, do you have what it takes to possibly fit the mould of a person who could survive and prosper on my island?
