• Epicureanism is a little remembered and badly misunderstood Greek philosophy. Founded by Epicurus and later immortalized by the Roman poet Lucretius, it is an enlightened form of hedonism. The philosophy has survived for many centuries-- Thomas Jefferson considered himself an Epicurean-- but it is not popular anymore.
