• Ah yes, we all know that an incredible number of people out there think that Shakespeare is the ultimate apotheosis of literature, that Kafka is the most profound writer to ever have existed, and that the rest of the world cares about every single American writer that has ever lived. But where does that leave Goethe, Camus, and the numerous jewels of literature that Europe has given the world? Exactly. And while the following test will be focused solely on Western literature (my apologies to the rest of the world, but I'd thought I'd give you a fair warning), and will ignore Fitzgerald (I hate Fitzgerald), it will certainly make sure that you actually know your stuff...as opposed to proving that you've memorized a bunch of Shakespeare lines, fancypants!
