The Steampunk Character Test

This quiz is meant primarily as an aid for RPG players and game masters. The takers answer a series of questions from the perspective of an imaginary character, and the result, determined by scores of five different scales, is an occupation or profession typical to a Victorian steampunk setting. There is a relatively large number of possible outcomes, and some are not suitable for adventuring characters.

Takers are reminded that the nineteenth century was a fairly conservative era, when males of the European upper middle classes dominated the world in every respect. The results reflect that. Also, I have done my best to avoid any reference to a particular race, country, or religion. Consequently, descriptions of some results are not sexist, racist, or what an American would call ‘’cynical’’ - they’re realistic.
