  • The 'Big Five' is simply a historical term coined duing the late 1950s and referred to those orchestras considered to be the most accomplished, prestigious, and renowned.

     

    The term is now outdated, but the orchestras still exist, one of which will be your result at the end of this test:

     

    The Boston Symphony

    The Chicago Symphony

    The Cleveland Orchestra

    The New York Philharmonic

    The Philadelphia Orchestra

     

    See?  They're all really good, but they're also conspicuously based in either the Midwest or the Northeast.
