The one sentence answer: WTF allows you to compare match questions with another user. Click the thumbnail for a peek at one.
We're not really sure what WTF stands for. It's been said it means, "What To Fix," while others insist it means "Where's The Farm." Wanna help us name it? Send your ideas to us via the feedback form.
The long answer: For each match question you and another user aren't perfectly matched on, WTF will display your respective preferences, your respective answers, how well (or poorly) they matched, and a damage score that tells you mathematically just how much messing up that question hurt the match between you two. If you're wondering how we get a number out of all of this, you'll want to check out the FAAAQ.
Great question! Ok, so you want to increase your match percentage with another user. You can request a WTF report with that user from their profile page. Just click on the WTF button in the sidebar (see image right).
enlargeA small box will appear when you click the WTF button on a person's profile. Click yes (see image left).
Here's where the patience thing comes in. You're most likely going to have to wait for that user to approve your request before you can dive into the report. We say most likely because you can change the default behavior of this (more on this later). The user you are requesting a report from either rejects or accepts your request. If they accept it, then you're golden. If they reject it, then move on ... there are more fish in the sea. Oh yeah, and if they accept, they'll be able to compare with you as well - it's only fair.
Everyone wants to feel accepted. You'll be notified via your OkMail when a user accepts your request.
Getting rejected sucks. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about it. The worst part is you'll never know if you were rejected or if your request hasn't been read. You can continue to request reports, but nobody loves getting spammed. Proceed with caution. With good behavior, those doing the rejection may eventually find it in their hearts to later accept the request.
I don't want to have to keep rejecting/accepting requests. Is there a way I can set my account to do it automatically? We're glad you asked. Yes, there is! Look on your settings page. To auto-accept all WTF requests, check the "Accept all requests" box in privacy settings. If you're auto-accepting requests, we don't have to bug you, so feel free to turn off WTF notifications under your email settings. To auto-reject all WTF requests, check the "don't allow" box in email settings (and make sure you're not auto-accepting, of course). All rejected requests will be piled under "Rejected" on your WTF home page.
