It's not always about price, it's also about quality. I want my product done right & I want every batch to be consistent. I don't want a mexican to fall asleep on the assembly conveyor belt cause he is hungover or having a siesta or is a drug mule & then end up packaged in a product.

Yeah but not enough people will make enough robots for them to get cheap enough for you to buy because everyone else will just use mexicans as long as they're so much cheaper.

This is one of a million ways wage slavery stands in the way human progress.

If it were prohibitively expensive (as it should be) to convince a human being to do nothing drudge work in your factory all day every day then we'd all have robots by now.

Archer's funny. If you're looking for something animated, try Bob's Burgers I swear, no other show makes me laugh like that one does.

I haven't heard of that one

I am downloading The Wire now. I want a show with a story arc. Like, with a beginning a middle and an end. I don't like these TV shows that just meander on forever.

what are mexicans? just sayin

I miss Mansardroof.

He was an even bigger douchebag than hank. You're batting 1.000 in your affection for douchebags, Trish.

Tell me, do you miss him more than hank, or are they equally missed?

Most plants, at least in america, are filled with a ton of robots, a few operators reading newspapers and hitting a reset button if something goes wrong once a day, and a lot of management. U don't see 2 many low paid mexicans.

Nov 16, 2012 3:04pm

I am a Mexican and I am polite

Nov 16, 2012 7:04pm

I'd be willing to bet that any plants in America that actually have robots are heavily government subsidized. A subsidy is an attempt to correct for or otherwise subvert/circumvent harmful market forces. And that's what's needed to make that happen in the USA. We're a 3rd world country with a global military. Robots can only be built if they suck up some of that military money through one route or another.

I downloaded The Wire. I guess I"ll give it a shot

at least one conservative economic theorist for the late 60's coined the term "technostructure" to encapsulate the complex abstract environment where development and manufacturing of products merges with strategy serving a collective will but dictated by a regimented, almost militaristic code that could probably be described as a proto-type corporate governance.  the basic point of this "technostructure" was to achieve "autonomy"

Nov 16, 2012 7:27pm

the technostructure was a plan however, until autonomy was reached, a plan that encouraged the fixing of wages and of prices for under-laborers, who were encouraged not to save, but only to spend, to consume, and to consume at any cost, and if need be, with credit. the entertainment industry's goals were hammered into place by the technostructure as well, they included only consolidating the focal point of the uneducated collective consciousness in a central location where advertising products developed by the technostructure would be most effective.

i dont watch television, not in a pretentious way, i don't use it as a card to pull on some bullshit cafe psychoanalytic poker game with people who wear tight pants, i just cant really focus on that stuff, but i believe the series "mad men" is set in this time period

Nov 16, 2012 8:59pm

Did anyone read that?

Nov 16, 2012 9:05pm

Nov 16, 2012 9:09pm

Just, like, don't trust robots.

Nov 16, 2012 9:59pm

I'm watching The Wire but it looks dumb. Stupid dialogue, bad acting. I'll give it 3 episodes and see if it gets better.

Nov 16, 2012 11:35pm

I can hardly remember most of you sometimes

Nov 17, 2012 4:00am

I'm sort of butthurt about the statement on your profile that you're a "mental-retard-whisperer", not long after thinking 'I like this girl'.

Nov 17, 2012 6:59am

Misquoting. I don't use the term "retard". I get along with little kids and the mentally challenged. It's a gift.
