I think guys that are fem/girly are cute. It doesnt make me uncomfortable like some girls, I just think its cute. Not all are gay either. Just like more girl things.

Honestly I absolutly love it, and you are right they are not all gay. I think more women like it than will admit it.

Glad you do. I tend to be a little I guess metrosexual was a term once used for me. I don't much care for it, but if it gives the idea of the way I act, dress, and talk then sure. I don't seem to find many girls who do when dating. Though my close friends are all fine with it.

cant hang with you. i like my men manly, big strong, loud, aggressive. but to each thier own. you take the girly obys,a nd ill take the manly boys, and ...hey look all the boys are happy.

I found that some really manly guys are trying to overcompensate for something. Guys that are more kind and gentle are more comfortable with who they are get generalized as gay or something.

I hope this thread gets hoppin a little. I kind of appear manly sometimes, but I like my broadway, purple stuff,  and could practically count the number of sports games I've sat through on one hand!

Okay, I'm EXXAGERATING, guess I'm kind of upset! LOL.   but still, I don't fit the typical stereotypes of what is "masculine..."

Oct 2, 2009 6:31pm

Ok, what about a guy liking butchy girls?  I've found my gay friends seem to be almost annoyed when I talk about an "obvious dyke" I think is attractive.  Is there something wrong with that?  Seems like I tend to get along better with them than "straight" women too, even romantically.

Rachel, what are you concerned about?  You're designating yourself bi anyway, I'd think a really feminine guy would be like the best of both worlds for you.  I mean, minus the breasts and vagina, of course.

Why would it be 'weird'? Maybe it's 'weird' in the sense that it's uncommon, but there's nothing wrong with it.

Anyway, I usually like "effeminate" guys, too. I'm not into totally femme crossdressers or anything; it's more about the person's general physical appearance/body - smooth/mostly hairless, pretty face, not enormously muscular, etc.

Really, the only time I find masculinity hot is if the masculine person in question is either not male-identified (i.e. butch/boi/etc.) or not straight (i.e. a big gay bear).

I guess that I like men that are manly, but not too aggressive. I like to be in charge.

I like girly girls.

I really appreciate someone who is authentic to themselves and doesn't feel the need to give way to societal pressures with regards to gender roles. I mostly date pretty boys who are not typical man's men.  They are often gender fluid and bisexual too.  The kind of guy who'd rather plan a hot outfit & go dancing than watch sports.  Another perk for me is that the goth subculture welcomes men in skirts and eyeliner.  Androgyny is dead sexy to me. :)

i agree with dreamylassie! it's not weird at all - it'd be pretty boring if we all liked the same thing. i think men in make up (skirt optional!) is one of the hottest things ever (assuming it suits them, make up doesn't work for everyone), and androgyny is always a good thing. i often like men who don't wear make up and aren't remotely androgynous, but it is definitely a good look.

Hooray for androgyny, femme guys, and crossdressers =D As someone who identifies as this, it's nice to see an overall positive response in the thread =D

OK. This is completely off-topic, but I have to say it - I just looked at your photos; and when I'm 47, I really hope I look like you do now.

Oct 3, 2009 8:32pm

Hell no. It's weird to people obsessed with masc./fem. roles but it really isn't a big deal.

Oct 4, 2009 11:23am

I do not think it is wierd to understand your desires in the qualities you want for a potential mate or friends at all! I think, It would be helpful if all folks really thought about this. It is nice to see positive responses to the question! I hope to find someone who would like to have a person who has a bit of both masculine and feminine attributes.

I'm with the general consensus; it doesn't really matter either way.  It's just a personal preference and it certainly does no one any harm. :o)

Besides, if no one liked fem boys then that would leave fem boys in a rather undesirable place :oP

For me, when it comes to girly loking men, it's a visual thing. I hate how manly men LOOK.

Who cares if it's weird.  Either way, we are preeeetty dang awesome.
