Most guys do. I'm not saying ALL. But most.

For instance, this guy named Jordan loves me and is CRAZY about me, yet, he denies the beautiful truth. He admits it sometimes, in certain ways (or words) but he doesn't just come out and say it. Tsk tsk *shakes head* such a shame.

Seriously though, all joking aside, I really have noticed most men tend to deny or hide their feelings... I just wonder... why?

Women do it, too... I understand that.

So, discuss both aspects.

I agree with Zexarious.

You wouldn't understand.

May 21, 2008 6:57pm

MAYBE it's cuz you are absolutely RIDICULOUS.. maybe this "jordan" guy isn't crazy about you, but just "crazy" in general

May 21, 2008 6:58pm

We don't have feelings.

We do have occasional bouts of insanity.

May 21, 2008 6:59pm

I don't deny my feelings. If I feel a certain way about someone, I tell them. I'm just never "crazy" about anyone.

May 21, 2008 6:59pm

Because it leaves you vulnerable and open to even more pain?

Did I get that right?

May 21, 2008 7:00pm

Two words: scar tissue.

May 21, 2008 7:01pm

Yeah, I can see trying to avoid pain/heartache.

:( Poor guys. That just makes me feel horrible.

I guess I do it too, though. Hell, I know I do. It is also for the very same exact reason. (As in, I hide/deny my feelings as well. Yes, I admit it. Go make me a sammich.) That said... Zexarious, I guess I DO understand better than you think afterall, eh? Butthead.

Just give them a couple of alcoholic drinks and the emotions should start pouring out.

"Dude.  I have to tell you something.  I love you.  No, no man, I'm fucking serious.  I love you, man." Breaks down and cries.

"Tee hee  I'm so drunk.  Take me home? Oh, you're drunk, it okay if I stay over then?" Passes out on the bed.

Which is male and which is female :O

May 21, 2008 7:03pm

I don't understand it. Tearing yourself open,

and standing bleeding, and vulnerable, is the

strongest feeling of power that there is.

May 21, 2008 7:07pm

calandale, there is truth in that. Knowing you have nothing to lose is probably one of the most empowering feelings ever. However getting to that point can be pretty fucking painful.

May 21, 2008 7:08pm

naaa, OK, that’s it.

' I love you' is the quickest way to get soneone to run like hell.

Too much emotion, "I'm feeling confined, I need space."

Too little emotion, " Do you care about us?"

The difference?  With too little emotion, they are not running away.  To error on the side of caution, do not show as much motion.  Plus, show you care through action, not words. It's a lot safer.

Don't blame me for it, this is all in the manual.

MAYBE it's cuz you are absolutely RIDICULOUS.. maybe this "jordan" guy isn't crazy about you, but just "crazy" in general

You won't get an arguement out of me. Jerk. =P

May 21, 2008 7:09pm

Because we're raised to believe that emotions are bad, and men don't cry or have feelings.

We take all our stress and regurgitate it later as a drunken rage.

You're assuming there isn't an emotion still driving you. If you've lost everything you'll probably feel bitter and angry. Anger is a powerful emotion and if you have nothing to reign it in (such as consequence) then it can become intoxicating.

May 21, 2008 7:20pm

this thread isn't delivering as I expected

May 21, 2008 7:24pm

It's just a thought. It reminds me of all those movies where the main character has lost his job, his family, everything and goes out for revenge only to die in blaze of glory. Hell, that premise shows up in books, comics, and games too. It's always a male character. Anger is a more acceptable emotion for a man to show. You want to cry? Tough. Push it deep down inside and turn it into rage. Then use that aggression somewhere else.

May 21, 2008 7:27pm

LOL most guys are stupid original poster....i'm a guy and i'll admit this, and thank god i'm not like most.

May 21, 2008 7:27pm

I find it to be funny. Many of the guys I know show all their emotions. Whether they are sad, upset, angry and even happy. I've seen loads of guys cry. However it's not to other men. The guys I've seen who show their emotions, always show it to a girl whether they are involved romanticly or friendship

I find that being stoic works better.
