What do you think of a person who is over 18 and a virgin?

May 28, 2010 6:16pm

Where's the checkbox for "I don't give a shit?"

And really, eighteen?  Not that I go around asking people this sort of thing, but I'm pretty sure it's still pretty common to be an eighteen-year-old virgin.  Now if we're talking like thirty or forty, then it's something unusual.

I think they are normal?

That would suggest that they are a loser if they are a boy. If an attractive girl who is over 18 says she is a virgin, you can assume she is a liar.

A guy who is still a virgin at 18 may still be a virgin at 40

^ you have a sad sad veiw of the world lol sounds like YOU are the loser.

@speedtwin > Yeh, I'm pretty sure that a guy who is still a virgin at 40yo was also a virgin at 18.

People have all kinds of issues at that age. Virgins are not uncommon.

It should be assumed, there's never good reason to rush into sex especially at an early age!

I looked for the check box for fresh meat.  That's one the needs to be added.

It's commendable.

Apparently they haven't met someone who moves them enough yet.  Someone who is so cool/awesome/beautiful that they can't resist. Lots of people want their first time to be with someone really special.  It's nobody else's concern, unless they're trying to be that person, but they just aren't special enough.

May 31, 2010 1:55pm

Completely puts me off. The girl is either hideous or badly infected with some religion. Usually both.

If it's neither then shes generally a pretentious bitch who is almost unbearable.

May 31, 2010 2:40pm

Hey! Didn't have sex til I was 19 and glad I didnt any sooner. Waited til it was tym for me, until I was ready and all that malarky.

I think we can fix this...

Right on the money there mate  :)

But when you do find that person - it's fracking AWESOME.  :D  There is some valid argument for testing the waters a bit and getting good at it first, but I've chosen to go an alternate route and find a girl who's not opposed to just practicing a LOT  *grin*  :)

I'd say 18 is too low. At that point, someone could be a late bloomer or from a all girl/boy school or something. 25 is probably pushing it. By 30, I'm out.

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin.  I don't get the rush that people seem to be in to lose their virginity.  If anything, 18 year olds are the ones who should NOT be having sex anyway.

Jun 2, 2010 3:47pm

I say it's great.  They are making good choices.  I was until I was almost 20....and then it was the right time and I don't regret it.

Jun 4, 2010 1:21pm

I agree with ^4 on this one. Nobody should be made to feel like a loser just because he/she has chosen to wait to have sex. I don't even think that 18 year-olds have a developed brain to understand what having sex will mean. Sure, you can understand the biological side. But there are many factors to consider. Upbringing, religion, education, emotional maturity...there must be others.

I'm glad I waited, but wish it had been with a different person. Now I'm going to wait until I can have a close emotional bond with a guy just because I don't want it to be meaningless.

You are still a kid at 18, sex is a grown up act requiring grown up responsibility to ensure safe and responsible results for any outcome. Sex isn't a trophy, virginity isn't a label, there is no placement  of people who or who have not had sex. A loser is a person who has given up on life or given up bettering themselves and the world around them. A loser is not someone who has made the decision to not jump into sex because their pants demand it. Those that proclaim virgins to be losers at any age are people need to create self worth for themselves because they were able to do something easy that others have not.

Its not hard to have sex, It's hard to build a strong relationship based on loyalty and unshakable bonds where sex is a natural benefit that flourishes under the protection of a firm relationship.

I'm 52 and still a virgin.  Asexual in my case; I've just never been interested in having sex with anyone (including when I lived with a girlfriend).
