When I got on OKC I was flooded with messages. The last time I deactivated I said it was because I was getting too many messages. NOW I am hardly getting any. I think OKC has overcompensated.

How do I reverse this? I am now messaging more, paying more attention to my profile, and maybe that's a good thing, but I used to like to know what was out there in terms of perception.

Thanks for the help.

Er, I don't think OKC actually reduces how much email you get or anything, it's probably just because you aren't new anymore and everyone in your area has seen you.

You might also try being less vapid...

How long ago did you deactivate? If you were under 30 back then, maybe that has something to do with it.

Even gravy trains have to stop eventually. Just keep focusing on messaging the people you want to message.

Making changes to your profile like answering more match questions, posting journal posts (if you have that feature available), taking tests, doing profile edits, adding pictures - all will result in your profile showing up in people's homepage 'activity feed', so that's one way to keep on people's radar.

Personally I think it's a bit obsessive but I've seen women that change their profile pics several times a week for apparently the primary purpose of keeping their profiles showing up there.

Ugh, wow.

Just goes to show you what truly matters is what you look like, rather than what you're carrying around between your ear-holes.
