My self-summary
I'm an archaeologist of languages and a historian of the ancient, and I get to travel a good amount for my job. I've recently returned to the Boston area after spending a year studying in Germany.

In some ways I'm old-fashioned, but I like the idea of portraying personalities online though writing. I wouldn't say I'm looking to meet a specific type of person, but I'm definitely interested in meeting someone who don't belong to the average or run-of-the-mill category.

In addition to rare, obscure, sometimes dusty books, I enjoy collecting equally occult audio media in the form of vinyl records and cassette tapes, mostly of music belonging to the darker genres, especially metal. I enjoy attending both local performances as well as undertaking the occasional pilgrimage for a truly rare musical experience (the Europeans have it much better when it comes to this, I must say).

I see happiness as something both obtainable and within my grasp on a daily basis. For me this amounts not to going with the flow of the times and conforming to trends and expectations, but in pursuing knowledge and personal betterment in a way that is unique to myself, while enjoying the time I have in this incarnation to use all the physical, mental, and spiritual abilities which have been loaned to me for duration of my existence on this earthly plane. I'd love to find someone who shares my point of view.

What I’m doing with my life
Learning and teaching... ask me if you'd like to know more.
I’m really good at
Learning ancient and modern languages, studying dead civilizations, cooking German or Hungarian food, writing, finding the sweet spot, opening jars, headbanging, having long hair and a beard, magic, honesty
The first things people usually notice about me
I know a lot of weird things.
The six things I could never do without
Freedom, love, the power of discerning truth from falsehood, glasses/contact lenses, books/internet, food/water
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Polytheism, music, when to buy my next plane ticket, animals, the essence of women, studying, words, translations, bacon, Babylon, what being dead is like, what being alive 5000 years ago was like

Of how the world will be when winter comes without a spring that I shall ever see / Of people long ago and people who will see a world that I shall never know
On a typical Friday night I am
subtly pontificating
You should message me if
You're magic
You're not a normie
You want to hang out
You can speak German, or some other cool language
You love learning
You rock out, at least sometimes
