My self-summary
I graduated from college with a BFA in fashion design in June 2012 and interned in Bangladesh until October 2012. I moved to the NY metro area in April 2013, from MN where I was born and raised, and am working as a technical designer for a women's clothing company. I also do freelance technical and associate fashion design.
What I’m doing with my life
Working long hours. Pilates (I'm not crazy flexible, don't get excited). Trying to pay off my student loans while setting aside enough money to leave the country every two years (so far, so good). Working on personal design projects to build my portfolio. Falling asleep on the train.
I’m really good at
Witty one-liners.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love a lot of shitty things.

Books - Salinger (hard tie between Franny and Zooey and Nine Stories), Fitzgerald, Donna Tartt, Hairstyles of the Damned, Various books dealing with sociology and/or pop culture, Memoirs by my personal girl heroes (I'm still waiting for Maya Rudolph to get a book deal), coming-of-age tales (even if I'm probably too old to relate to them any more), Special Topics in Calamity Physics, Rosemary's Baby, Lullabies for Little Criminals, Persepolis, Gone Girl, Helter Skelter, The Plague, Thank You for Smoking, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Phantom Tollbooth

Movies: Rosemary's Baby, The Shining, Heathers, Jawbreaker, Heavenly Creatures, Hard Candy, (Basically any movie that is a part of the teen-girls-are-dangerous canon - no matter how campy), Thank You for Smoking, Airplane!, Almost Famous, American History X, Charade, Sabrina, Hell House, Coming Soon, Election, Ghost World, The Graduate, Saved!, Little Shop of Horrors, The Virgin Suicides, The Queen of Versailles, and Young Adult. I also enjoy lifetime movies where technology ruins everyone's lives (Sexting in Suburbia, for example); I will also watch a documentary about almost anything.

Shows: Arrested Development, Intervention, Bob's Burgers, Parks and Recreation, Daria, Freaks and Geeks, Popular, American Horror Story, Shameless, Portlandia, Downton Abbey, Louie, and Antiques Roadshow - particularly watching people try to hide their disappointment when they find out the priceless heirlooms are also worthless. I am also a sucker for those Sunday night Dateline specials about teens who murder their parents.

Music: Hole, the music I was listening to in junior high (lots of pop punk, but also Garbage, No Doubt, Blondie, The Buzzcocks, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Siouxsie and The Banshees) and as a freshman in college (2008-2009) (lots of female artists - M.I.A., Gossip, Santigold, Rye Rye, Robyn, Kate Nash, Amy Winehouse, Best Coast, Bikini Kill, Tegan and Sara) The Clash, First Aid Kit, Brand New, Modest Mouse, Patsy Cline, Wu Tang Clan, The Misfits, Talking Heads, New Order, Prince, and Angel Haze

Food: Black bean soup, Black Bean Burgers, waffles, Curly Fries, anything pumpkin flavored, pineapple, raspberries, grapefruit, coconut milk ice cream, burritos, tamales, sushi, noodles, whiskey, iced green tea, peeps and gummy candy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What's up next for me in life? Why am I an adult who still listens to pop punk from 2003?
On a typical Friday night I am
Optimistically, I'd like to say I'm at a dive bar with friends. Realistically, it's 9:30, and I've accidentally fallen asleep while contemplating either working out or vacuuming my apartment.

I'm more of a Saturday night person.
